Cheerleader.....really......part 2!

Well, found out today that SD can FAIL two classes and still be on the Cheerleader team. Are you frickin kidding me? If she fails one, she can still cheer, if two, then she has to sit out. Wow, must be rough......so she can get D- across the board and still cheer! Way to go school. My DH told her cheer coach today that it was HIS fault as to why she has missed all of her practices. I am going to explode!!!!!! She has not made one attempt this summer to go. AND, he dished out $500 today and there is more. Once again, MUST BE NICE TO BE HER!

Wow! Here the kids have to be making at least a "C" in ALL of their classes to participate. IF they get a D they can dress out but can not leave the bleachers. IF they get an F they are not even to show up at the games. If they get an F three weeks in a row or 6 weeks total throughout the year they are off the squad for the year. Scholastics are placed above sports at our school. It wasn't always like this though and I am so grateful things have changed.

I am not really sure what my daughter's academic standard is to cheer as she always makes good grades so it's not a worry-but I think it may be similar to what you said. I remember being a little surprised that it was so lax. However I think you are on "probation" here with one F and you must sit out 3 games and then if you bring it up then you can start participating again-I think if they fail two though they are done for the season. But yes d's are acceptable qt least academically-not to me though. If my daughter ever made d's on her report card she wouldnt be doing extracurriculars. IMO that's just dumb-if your kid doesnt have enough time to study and make decent grades then they shouldnt be doing extras. Also here you cant miss camps or cheer practices unless you have a doctors note or a family vaca or a death in the family. But if your dh is going to vouch for her I guess they will take his word.
