LOVE those baby steps!

So, Monday is skid-night.
DH calls me while I'm driving to my sales call (after he's picked up SD10). So he's on the phone with me, and dealing with her. So I get to overhear the whole exchange.
"Has your Mom taught you to fold clothes?"
"...yes......"
"Great! THESE are yours! Fold them! And put them away in a drawer. I think your underwear is in here, your pants go...."
WOW!
A CHORE!
Seriously, I think this might be the first time he's asked her to take responsibility like that.
And, last night after they got home from sports practice. "Do you want anything to drink?"
"Yes, milk!"
"Okay. Can you get it yourself?"
"I can get a glass. I don't think I can reach the milk."
So, SHE got a glass, took it to the fridge, and he got the milk and filled it for her. A baby-step better than his usual role of fetching for her while she makes demands! (And, ahhh...granted...the milk WAS on the top shelf in the fridge....and buried behind MY bottle of wine...)
All that PLUS zero bedtime drama!
Exciting stuff, in my little world...

Woohoo! Those are seriously the best nights when you feel like the dust is settling and you can move in a positive direction!

Well, I think what happened, more or less, has been the following.
I found ST, so I've got a safe, sane place to vent AND some validation about what I've been thinking/feeling for the past year.
This left me able to both a.) push DH a little bit more about these issues...because now I KNOW I'm right, and what I want makes sense, for all of us, while at the same time b.) NOT so much be bitchtastic about it (because those "discussions" no longer serve the dual purpose of my bitching about spoiled SD10 AND making suggestions to improve things. Y'all get the bitching, and he just gets the more constructive bits.
And...check my boy out! It's WORKING!

(Summary: Hey, y'all! THANKS!)
