So SD gets more Daddy time.... when do I get some??!!

Ok, so 2 weekends ago, SD11 went with BF to work for a 12 hour shift... he wanted to spend time with her. She asked to go. I have asked to stop by for lunch like I used to, he said it was a bad idea because they have gotten into trouble for it. So she can spend all day there??
:?

So yesterday she stayed home because of a headache. Last night, she was laughing and having a good time at dinner. When it came time to clean up, "I still have a headache" BF did say that if she felt good enough to play games, she could help do dishes Biggrin

BF would have had today off, but a meeting came up he had to attend at 7 AM. When she found out that he had a meeting, she pouted. So I figured she planned on staying home with Daddy.

Well, I was right. He took her to his meeting, then to the doctor.

He called me after her seeing the doctor, sinus infection. So now he plans on taking her out to lunch and "spending the day with her"

Ok, looks like a great Dad right? Sure, he is. To his 1 daughter. She is the center of attention when she is around him.

I have asked him twice in the last 2 weeks, "Can we get some alone time... do something just us?" Twice he has said, "sure, we will work something out" Nothing yet.

I brought home movies this weekend, he worked on the house all weekend. SD11 was not there.

He took off Friday to attend her Dance competition. He works all this weekend.

When do I get my time?

When things get crazy and I need DH time...I give him my stern warning...we need a date! He has learned that if he gives this to me, I am much more enjoyable to be around, I'm more helpful, I cooperate better and there is more peace in our home.

It's matter of respect really. DH thinks he needs his time of solitude aka hunting incessantly and golfing obsessively and I support him on it as long as he gives me what I need.

I know, it is about respect and I am beginning to question why I am there still... again! Thanks ddakan you are so right!

Exactlywhen you have enough of begging for special time go out on your own...maybe just the girls...see what he thinks then. if that doesnt work make him miserable lol why should you be the onlly one to feel this way...just my opinion

I grew quite tired of even having to bring it up at all. To my own husband?! I've never, ever had to beg someone to take me out.

This is all quite new to me as well. I feel your pain. We have never been anywhere in two years alone, not even for one night. Our weekends are always "booked" and he seems "too tired" to do anything together during our work week. Whatever.
