Manipulative

Why is it that people can't believe children (step-children) can be very manipulative and conniving, especially if the BM is this way? My SO always says "oh she's not that smart or that evil to something like that". He needs to find out want the humans hierarchy of needs are in a normal, well adjusted human, he might be surprised!

Funny, my DH has always raved about how wonderful skids are, they are sooo respectful and soooo good, not "bad" kids by any means, oh no, not hiskids! and then *poof* reality check.... SS12 got caught shoplifting last weekend, go figure!

I have never said this to DH, but I KNOW (maybe from working in education and seeing the manipulation on a daily basis or maybe some wierd 6th sense?) that skids put on a good show for him the couple times a month they are with us. But they are different kids the other 25 days of the month. Guarantee it and I got my proof this past weekend.

Ha - he will eventually catch on - they can be incredibly manipulative - especially if they have a master to learn from in the BM - though some dads seem to want to kid themselves it is not happening. When I told DH that SD14 had smuggled booze into the house at New Year 2 years ago, drunk it with her little friend and puked on my rug - he said she must have had a tummy bug. Then a year ago her older sister admitted what I had known all along - booze was indeed smuggled.
