Watching skids at night

My DH just switched to swing shift so he can have more time during the day with skids. They leave at the end of this month. Not a problem, doesn't bother me to handle, dinner, showers and bedtime. Skids are 10 and 11 pretty self sufficient now.

But if I have to break up 1 more, "She is breathing on me!" argument. I just might scream and DH will find me with alcohol, hiding in the bedroom! LOL

I told them to not sit next to each other! Hell there is a whole other couch that 1 of them can sit on for crying out loud! When I suggested that my SS said, can't you make the dogs move off the couch? I said no, they were there first and you have 15 minutes till bedtime so either sit on the other couch or on the floor.

For the most part, they are good kids and they listen but seriously, "She is breathing on me!" I had to tell my SD to breath with her mouth closed! The end of August can not come soon enough!!

I can't wait for September, my family is going on our yearly vacation for 10 days and no skids!! Party time!! Have a wonderful hump day everyone!!

Your skids sound pretty darn good for their age. Count your blessings!! I would give ANYTHING to just have my skid during the summer! I cannot wait for Sept just so I can send skid and my kids off to school 5 days a week! Ss15 lives with us and has lived with us 24/7 for 3 1/2 years now. I am just counting down the years, 3 more to go!

Oh yes, I do count my blessings that they are pretty decent for their age! I'm just not use to kids, I have no bio kids, so it's hard to go from no noise to noise for 2 months. I have a feeling next summer my SD will come live with us, she has been making comments about that for 2 years!

I told my DH if we decide to have our own kids, that we should only have 1 so they don't have someone else to argue with! LOL Smile

My own kids were having this fight today. DD10 and BD4 were in the backseat and BD4 is crying because DD coughed on her. This went back and forth until I had to have DD sit in the front seat. She is big enough!!

But I have taught SD15 and DD10 that if one of them does something the other does not like, WALK AWAY!!!!! This is my rule. And it has worked out great for the last 2 years. They used to have hair pulling, screaming and crying matches. But they both walk away from each other and it ends it immediately. They have not had a fight in 2 years.

Thanks! I'll use that technique! We only have skids during the summer (they live states away from us) my DH is usually home to referee them. But its just me and them for the next few weeks at night at least. Smile
