Who is responsible?

DH has full custody of SD and she is going to go live with her BM, which means she will be switching schools. Her mom was almost arrested for truancy when SD was in kindergarten. Who will be held responsible if SD is truant while she lives with her mom? We still have custody.

I am not sure what we need to do to cover our butts.

If she is going to live with her mom, you need to transfer custody. If not, YOU are technically liable for her as YOU have custody.

legally transfer custody, until THAT is done, you guys will be the responsible one's
