Days Blending Together

Sweetie's picture

I've had some problems in the last few weeks of the days getting mixed up in the middle of the week, as they all start to seem to be the same to me. The weather has been hot, hot, hot-almost 100 yesterday-but we got a shower last night and then it was unbelievably sticky, and buggy. And I was wishing I was somewhere else. Yuck! But I gave the dogs Frosty Paws wish they really seemed to appreciate. Last week I bought an ice shaver that does snow cones and fancy ice drinks. With the way things were going with my SD, I'll be making batches of margaritas daily!
I've been talking to my mom on the phone in the last week, when I can find her at home. She's a real gadabout. But I really think, the older she gets, the more strange she seems to me. I think that's the way it appears to us about our parents. That they just seem to gradually become more peculiar as they get older. I haven't written much lately...I've seen many new people joining that seem to have more immediate problems than me. I've been sick lately for the last week with stomach pains. But I started to do some sewing..cross stitch, probably bit off more than I can chew with lots of projects for Christmas.
My husband has been in a lousy mood, and I've basically been calling him on it and telling him it's not right bringing it back home and taking it out on me and the dogs. He was swimming all last weekend and getting tanned really dark--well he's half Cherokee--so he looks like a peanut at least--we look like a biracial couple--I look like a potato-as I am extremely fair and burn--I have to used SPF 70 and I still will burn if I don't stay out of the sun. I am getting hats from Coolibar now--they have the sun stuff in them--sunblocker fabric.
I am getting some new plants that are on sale for the summer. We also started working on closing off the decking with lattice on the bottom and got the first 12' section done last weekend. Only two more sides left. I still have to paint the interior but my husband will be making me plant shelving for the inside.
Not much else new here. I am trying to kill off the overabundance of poison ivy and poison oak & sumac with spray. It is growing like crazy here in GA. We are doing day trip vacation in July, then
a week in late October in NC, and back to NC for Thanksgiving. Hoping my parents will come here for Christmas this year. If not, I'll have to pack everything up again. I'll be checking on everyone later.
Regards,
Sweetie

Oohh, ice shaver, yes margarita for me please. Cool. You like to sew, I never learned how to do that. I'm into wire wrapping & beads, making jewelry here and there and animals keychains. It's addicting. Good you tell your husband not to bring his work home, that is just too much for anyone to handle. Have you made friends to keep you company sometimes?
