OT: Believe in ESP?

zerostepdrama's picture

Do you believe in ESP and do you ever get it?

I definitely believe in it because I get it! My Grandma (my mom's mom) also had it.

Some examples:

I knew when my BF was in labor.
I knew when my cousin's GF was pregnant.
I knew when I was going to run into this girl I did not like at the grocery store.

And the funny thing about the ESP is that I never fully formulate the thought in my head or speak it out loud. It's just like a passing by thought and then it happens.

So my previous blog about funerals, yesterday the weather was bad and I was thinking about SS driving (not sure why) and him getting in a car wreck. It was kind of like a minor passing thought. I thought about it more today like "Why did I even think that" and it made me think about the funerals, etc. (though I have thought about it before)

Well I just looked on FB and see that he was in an accident (I'm going to do a separate post about that).

So just curious if anyone else experiences it and what have you known about before you actually knew?

Yes!

I knew when SSis was pregnant with one of her kids. Even asked my mom if she was because she just seemed like it. My mom was adamant she wasn't, then about a month later, she told everyone. She was way too early to look it (think maybe 6 weeks along).

I have had dreams before where the thing in my dream comes true to a T. Those freak me out.

Usually, though, I have more of a feeling that something is going to happen or be said, but I won't know what until right before it happens. I think that's why lots of things people tell me don't surprise me, because I already "know".

SO and I were on vaca a state away. The morning we were packing I told him to hurry up because there was something wrong with my mom. I couldn't nail it down but I knew she was in pain. As soon as we got into the truck to head back my sister called to say my mom just went to the hospital with clots in her legs.

I get it from my mom and gran. I don't know how many times growing up that little things like phone calls, dreams, etc. would let us know what was going on with us.

Yes. For me it started in my mid 20'.

Often catastrophic events usually 2 to 3 days before they happen. NOT like a hurricane that was publically predicted. It is the events out of the blue. Zero connection to my family. My dh told me I could call xyz places to tell them HEY this is going to happen. Locations and colors associated often come thru.

Sometimes missing kids...weird I know. Recent example; In sc a little girl went missing a few months ago out of her house---I told my one adult kids, This child is shallow water.
They found her dead in a creek area a few days later.

Three times now I knew a person closely connected to me/us has passed away. Then the phone rang with the news within a hour of the "THING" I experienced.
---------------------------------------------
I can tell when someone is blowing smoke UP my A**, then again many of us can.

I also can pick out trolls very easy here. There too, many of us can.

The other stuff "catastrophic events, missing kids and deaths" make my innards hurt when I have this "thing" I call it. NOT a bad "Oh my stomach hurts, but an ache"

Yes, definitely. I've known when things are happening to people close to me and have also had premonitions of bad things that have happened. THAT sucks.

I have had a few dreams about people I know being pregnant and then found out they were. I have been able to just get a feeling about the sex and have been correct.

I had one terrifying dream years ago that foreshadowed a real event- when it happened, I remembered that dream and knew it had come true. I could have stopped it myself if I had connected to that dream and realized it was a warning, but I did not- until later.

I don't know what it's called. But I knew the exact moment my grandfather died. He'd been suffering from lung cancer for almost two years and was in the final stage. It was the beginning of my senior year in high school. I was sitting in the cafeteria during my lunch period, looked at the clock, it was 1:12 pm, and I thought, "Grandpa just died."

Sure enough, when I got home, my mom told me he'd passed. At 1:11 pm. I was a minute off. I'd never experiences anything like that before, and haven't since.

When I was a kid, I had some abilities. I saw apparitions, knew when the phone was going to ring and who would be calling, would dream of future events, and experienced a lot of deja vu. This peaked during puberty (12 - 15 y.o.).

I remember driving somewhere I'd never been with my SF and the rural road passed through a pretty, open valley with a large meadow. I pointed and said "The house used to be there." He said no, that a pioneer family had once ranched there but the house had been in a different place and had burned down long ago. I was a bit bratty and argued with him, insisting I was right. We went back and forth, and he finally told me he would prove me wrong by stopping there on our way home. We did, getting out of the car and walking through tall grass to the burnt foundation of what had once been a large house. "No, this isn't the one" I said, and started walking further back across the meadow to where we found the ruins of a small cabin next to a creek. No idea how I knew that, I just did.

Now that I'm older, I still sometimes have dreams that come true, or random people will pop into my head and then show up shortly afterwards. But the only prediction I can make with certainty is that if I don't wear a bra, company will drop in Wink

Yes, I have had this...I think almost anyone can experience this if we are open to it.
I haven't had as many occurrences as some of you but it has happened.
Another odd things happens to me regarding BM or the Skids- I start getting this anxious feeling really uncomfortable feeling and soon enough BM or the Skids contact SO the very next day...talk about toxic people- it happens every time with them...its uncomfortable and of course stressful...but at least I know when I'm in for a shit storm.

I can usually tell if it is my Mom or my Sister on the phone before I answer - they can do the same thing as well.

I used to work nights and I turned off all of the phones while I slept during the day. One day I woke up and had the strongest urge to check the phone for messages. When I checked, my DH had just left a message telling me that he thought he was having a heart attack and was driving himself to the ER.

I was very connected to my brother in an ESP kind of way. I knew when he was physically hurt. In 1992 he was involved in a motorcycle accident that should have killed him. Scene was 3 blocks from home, and I told my parents. They thought I was nuts until the police chaplain rang the doorbell. It happened 4 or 5 more times.

The last accident, which did take his life...I felt nothing.

Oh yes I believe in it and I have it.

I knew when I got pregnant and I knew I was having a boy

I knew that my relationship with my exH was going to end very badly. A voice in my head said it clear as anything but how do you believe it 3 weeks into meeting someone. Boy oh boy OH BOY was it right!

I have a passing thought and then it happens not too long after.

If I can't picture doing something or going somewhere, then it isn't going to happen. I'm right all. the. time.

I know the second I meet someone if they are good or bad.

Heck I even knew that someone I used to work with wasn't eating because she didn't have any food at home. She never told anyone and never said a thing but I just knew.
