Kids switching roles?

I feel like SD and SS are switching behaviors.

Last time we had SD, I told DH to ask BM if she would be ok with SD staying overnight Sunday (when we usually take her home) and DH can just take her to school Monday morning. My reasoning was, SD's school is only 5 minutes from our house and BM's house is 40 minutes away. DH still wasn't working and it would save us gas money and wear on the MY vehicle. Instead of asking BM, he asked SD. Normally SD loves staying at our house. She has always said yes to extra time.

This time she told DH that she wanted to go back to BM's house because our house is too quiet and BM's has lots of people over. DH asked me what that was supposed to mean. I said "Mommy's house is fun"

Well, DH decided to keep her for the extra night (with BM's approval). When he told SD she gave him the dirtiest look I've ever seen from her. She is usually the sweetest kid. We never have problems with her.

DH and I talked about it later. Neither of us could understand the "lots of people" at mom's house comment because BM has always worked Sunday nights. DH thinks it was because she is pretty much in charge at BM's house and can do whatever she wants because BM is never home. She can stay up to 2am the night before school. No one is there to say otherwise.

I'm not sure. BM's has worked nights as a bartender going on 4 years. Skids have been left alone til 3-4am all those years. Why is SD all of a sudden upset to spend one additional night at dad's house. I think she has a crush on a boy. Hopefully it's a boy on her school bus and that's why she wanted to go home. I hope hope hope that isn't not a crush on BM's new boyfriend.

BM moves these guys in days after meeting them. The newest one has been living there since end of May/beginning of June. Is BM's house all of a sudden "more fun" because of BM's new boy toy? God, I hope it not that. But she is 13 going to be 14 in about 6 months.

Then there's SS11. He has actually been good in school 12 days and counting. It's a new record. Already has math grades posted. Two A's and a B on his assignments. Also new record. I'm very proud of him.

Also, DH went back to work yesterday. Happy Days. He was driving me crazy being home all day even though I'm at work.
