Beer

I can't say it enough: BEER.

My whole life, I've liked beer. It was love at first taste. As a STBSParent, I see beer as an integral part of my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. I know some folks will disagree, and when it comes to alcohol abuse, of course... that's wrong... but BEER is a delicious brew that offers so many varieties and flavors that, even though we won't all agree on which one is best, all of us beer fans can appreciate the fact that there are plenty of styles to suit plenty of tastes.

I personally like a hoppy IPA or a light beer this time of year, but I am looking forward to Oktoberfest style beers which should be coming out very soon!

Stout. Murky, thick, flavorful, black-as-my-heart stout.

lol.... I also make shanties if I'm stuck drinking pale draft..yuck.

If I can't make shanties, I add clamato juice... or salt.

An imperial Russian stout like Old Rasputin
Citrusy, hoppy IPA (Deschutes Fresh Squeezed)
Milk Stout (Left Hand is good)
Bourbon barrel (Bristol Wireless Warlock, a variation of their Winter Warlock, which is also good.

No nitro. I don't get what the fuss is about there. Tastes flat to me.

I LOVE beer. I had to quit the keto diet because I couldn't have my beer. I like it dark and thick. DH and I are probably going to Hopcat tonight. Over 130 taps. YUM!!!

Shiner Oktoberfest hit the fridge this weekend.

"Oktoberfest cometh!"

A harbinger of cooler months and crisp, fine evenings with friends and neighbors. I love mine with a bratwurst and a yeast roll with a nice mustard. Just like Wurstfest in New Braunfels!

There are many that I enjoy. I pretty much like all of the varieties of Ale, Lager and Stout.

Yuengling is one of my go to brews when I can get it, I enjoy many micro brews and am thrilled that Cellis has returned to Austin and I am Jonesing to get my gullet around a Pale Bock. I miss my days on assignment in Germany and Belgium. The Mecca and Medina of barley pop!

Thanks for killing me with this topic. My wife and I have been on a LCLF Keto weight loss program for 5mos and I haven't libated the entire time. Only another 6mos to go to my goal weight and then it is beer and cocktail 30. I will likely start with a high end Anejo Tequila on the rocks and follow that with a nice single malt then... beer. I cant wait.

Enjoy your coping beverage of choice and do what it takes to survive the blended family adventure.
