My Productive Day

Sweetie's picture

Hi All,
Well, I had a pretty productive day all on my own. I took my DH's truck in for an oil change and drove to another town about 20 minutes away and they checked the truck and changed the oil in 15 minutes. But, amazingly I was completely flabberghasted when the manager came out from the service bay and told me that hardly any oil drained from the truck. I asked him a couple of times if he was sure, and also did he see any leaks. I have been after my DH to make sure the truck is full for oil, particularly since we tow our trailer with this vehicle. Needless to say, I was about fit to be tied when he gives me grief about my car, which is always maintenanced. My car gets dusty inside, but at least, I didn't use the excuse today he gave me, that the oil light wasn't on! And this is after we just have been looking at a brand new F250 Diesel 4x4 King Rancher Crew Cab, Year 2006 at two different dealers lately. I was just boggled.
I also finished all of our taxes--had to do 2 different state returns which turned out to be a wash, and then the federal so I can efile tomorrow. The government really messed up our federal taxes this year, especially because of the move, and we had to repay money back to DOD (my husband's employer) because they said they gave us too much, only they took out way too much taxes and social security. It makes our refund amount look absolutely ridiculous, but thankfully I had predicted that this would be what would happen and had my husband change his deductions a couple of months after we moved.
I also got part of my prescriptions and am just missing one now. The pain in my right ankle was pretty bad tonight already at dinner time, I could barely walk. I will be seeing the orthopedist next week so maybe he can suggest something. I even talked to my doctor about the cane and the fact that with using the cane, no one wants to or is interested in hiring you. I am trying not to work about the connective tissue disease because whatever it is, I can't stop it anyway. But I would rather know sooner, than later since I have to wait for the rheumatologist appointment until July. I haven't said a word to my Mom that I may have lupus until I know exactly what is going on, because I don't want her to feel sorry or apologetic to me. She has had it since I was in college.
Finally, I did have a great evening with the dogs--Bullet, Murphy, and Comet. My husband helped me after we got sandwiches for dinner. I had purchased Frosty Paws for the dogs and as it was so hot and humid the dogs had a wonderful time eating their treat. I guess the simple things sometimes help make life a little more bearable. I haven't heard back from my SS so I guess that he won't be coming for Easter because of the scheduling mess....but maybe another time soon. I hope for my DH's sake, he comes soon. It is supposed to be in the 90's here in GA over the weekend, but DH already took his first dip in the pool for the season this afternoon after work. He enjoyed that and maybe something like that would give him something else to think about rather than going on about his office problems. That issue should be getting better, I think. His supervisor put him for a time off award of forty hours off. Not bad!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Regards,
Sweetie
