"Oh, she wants to be a MOM today?"...

So.... SS hasn't responded to BM's texts since Thanksgiving day, and prior to that, it had been quite a while. He did tell her Happy Thanksgiving, and that was all. Until this past Saturday.

BM text him 3 times throughout the day, they just said "hi" and "I love you". SS had a baseball tournament so he didn't have his phone on him. But when he got in the car after his last game (he rode home with a team mate because we had DH's office party) he responded. This is how the conversation went (keep in mind he is 13, and an exceptionally well behaved child):

BM- How are you
SS- Pretty lit
BM- WHAT?????
SS- Yeah
BM- What do you mean SS? What are you LIT on?
SS- What?
BM You said you were LIT, what are you LIT on? Who are you with?
SS- *friend*
BM- I don't like what you are telling me, you are LIT?
SS- It means awesome, what the heck?
BM- Where are you
SS- Baseball field
BM- Are you watching a game
SS- Nah
BM- I don't like how you are talking to me you are being very disrespectful I am your MOTHER.

So then.... we are at DH's Christmas party, his phone starts blowing up. She is telling DH that SS text her something and she is "very concerned"and "PLEASE CALL ME NOW". Meanwhile, I tell SS "screen shot me your conversation with your mom and send it to me". He replies "oh gosh... what she wants to be a mom today?". I just respond, I don't know buddy, but I'd rather hear what happened straight from you than from her texts. So he sends the conversation...

She is telling DH "He said he is LIT, dh.... LIT". DH ignores her for a while. Only responding with "I am at a work function, I can't and won't 'CALL YOU NOW'". So she continues to text. After about an hour DH responds. "SS is the most amazing kid ever, he is solid, he doesn't know the term LIT to mean what YOU think it means. Just because you got "LIT" at this age, doesn't mean he does".
- ARE YOU SURE
- I am POSITIVE. SS is in a car with the *FRIENDS PARENTS* and has been with them for the past 4 hours since we left his game. I highly doubt the man that has 2 PHD's and the PTA President are allowing my 13 year old son to get high. You are an idiot for thinking he would do that, if you knew him at all you would never be concerned about him saying that word. Kids these days use it like "awesome". Now, stop texting me.
-I'm sure you can understand why I was concerned
-Yes because you were a piece of Sh*t teenager you assume all of them are, well we are raising SS better than that, so don't you worry your little self about that. I got this.

So, when we get home we tell SS what people think LIT means. He started laughing "Oh yeah, me and Mr. *Friends dad* were totally getting high on the way home from my baseball tournament. I really want to tell her to stop acting like my mom unless she wants to actually BE A MOM.
- no buddy, you can't do that. Just ignore it. And don't get high.
-LOL ok, I promise I won't.

OK BM, nice try at being a parent and acting concerned... now why don't you just go get LIT and leave us alone. Thank you.

DH said he would have so much more respect if he thought that she was asking because she is ACTUALLY concerned about him getting high. He think she is waiting for SS to start smoking weed so she can win him over and they can get high together. That's apparently what her mom did when she was 13.

LOL having 2 teenagers myself I know exactly what LIT means. Yes the first time I heard my kid say it my head spun in her direction I got whip lash and asked her what!?!? My bad considering her exact words were at a Cheer Comp after a 1st place win was "Mom after the comp in the locker room the whole team was lit" lol.

There a few terms these kids use today that don't have the same meaning, but hahahaha BM you are a tool

That was just it. He had just won his baseball game. He was "LIT" the way all of the 13 year olds we know right now are LIT. She's an idiot.

Of course he's lit! LOL Adrenaline really is the best high, especially when you've participated and accomplished something.

Ugh yeah she's not too concerned with the High Life or she wouldn't spend most of her life "LIT". I'm almost glad he took her attempt at parenting as an annoyance instead of thinking she actually cared because even if she was genuinely worried about him, it wouldn't last longer than a day.
