Just waiting and venting :)

The little things

1. BM wants more money for SD20..who is going back to school after a year in the work force but still lives with BM. Lawyer appointment isn't until the 31st...I think the waiting is the worse.

2. DH got this big text the other day saying that DS20 is still stressed because her boyfriend broke up with her..she can't work because she is so stressed. SD20 has filed for sick benefits through EI (here in CaNADA) and has no money. The doctor has her put off until the 8th of September. BM has paid SD20's phone bill..given her gas money and spending money so she can go out with her friends..and DH needs to help out.

So DH texts SD20 and asks what she needs money for. "Oh Daddy...just in case I want to go do something with my friends or go somewhere in Bm's car." Right on...stay home like we have to do cause you have no money..FFS

DH invites them to supper on Monday...and me being the good little wife I am helps cook. So the two SDs walk in while DH and I are playing around..tickling and laughing while cooking supper. SD15 laughs at us...SD20 doesn't crack a smile. Hmmm..interesting. All through supper and clean up after I am super loving and playful with DH...apparently she doesn't like it. Awww what a sin.

So this 20 year old has been working for the last year, living rent free at BMs, BM has been paying her phone bill and giving her gas money... soooo where is all the money SD earned at her job??? If SD is going back to college and needs money then she can get a job. I'd wait for court. Lord knows your DH will probably have to pay but wait for a judge to demand it.. not BM and a 20 year ungrateful, entitled snot.

I agree with Gimlet. When I was in my early 20's I made some financial mistakes. My mother bailed me out multiple times, and while I truly appreciate that she did that and was happy at the time, in retrospect I know that she didn't do me any favors. I would have learned some important lessons about working, saving, and spending wisely if my mother had left me to cook in the fire a bit.

If your SD20 is able to work, then she absolutely should be. It doesn't sound like she has any weighty expenses like rent or a car payment, so even a minimum wage type job should take care of her expenses.
