I just can't....this is over the line

Last In Line's picture

So I have carefully managed my Girl Scout Cookies, rationing them out to make it until next time I can order.

Some skid at my last box of caramel delights/samoas tonight. The entire effing box. It was hidden (not well enough apparently) way high in the pantry. I found the empty box in the trash tonight when I let the dog out, and I KNOW it was all eaten tonight, because I had checked my stash earlier in the evening.

DH thinks I'm being ridiculous...after all, they are cookies, they are meant to be eaten. Which I would totally agree with, if skid had eaten say TWO cookies. But an entire BOX? That's overboard for anyone.

I used to make Christmas cookies for my friends - that they loved. I gave my BFF a huge container of Christmas cookies. She was so PISSED when her SS ate all of them - even when they were frozen. It was about a 2 gallon container.

DH thinks cookies are meant to be eaten.

DH ate your cookies but he is perfectly happy to let there be some question as to who the culprit is so that he doesn't get in trouble with "mom"...lol

Oh, you got the ASS treatment. ASS would ALWAYS eat the entire bag/box/container of EVERYTHING in the house. Granola bars, cookies, chips, you name it, he would consume ALL of it.

I ended up hiding things in my room. Ridiculous, just ridiculous.

Rude. Thoughtless. Greedy.

LOL I read these posts and it's not my kids/ skid that eats all the cookies, biscuits and sweets. It's my husband Blum 3 He also gets in trouble for it.

There are certain lines that should not be crossed:

1. Hygiene

2. Contribute to the household upkeep

3. Do NOT eat the girl scout cookies unless specifically purchased for you or drink the last diet coke.

Why is this??? I really don't get it. DH and our kids all will ask before we take the last of anything. SD hides any food she buys and it is assumed that no one but her may have it. She does not hesitate to take what she wants. She will take the biggest piece of steak or pork chop. The biggest piece of pizza etc. Its a freaking free for all with her....

I'm guessing the skid didnt' even ask. THAT is what pisses me off, when they just take food and don't ask if they can have some.

I was raised that you ask permission if you want a snack, or at the very, very least you tell mom that you're going to eat xyz, just on the slim chance they intend it for something/someone else.

I made cupcakes in February (the last time I will make them), had them iced, on the cake platter and no sooner than I had cleaned up the mess and sat down, SD13 saunters in and asks DH (NOT ME, WHO MADE THEM) if she can have one. Of course he says yes, and doesn't say a word to me. So a bit later I walk in and there's the cupcake liner on the counter. I was so mad. At least ASK ME if you are going to eat something I just made. They had no idea if I intended those for work or someone else. They didn't have the manners to ask.

I ended up throwing the whole batch away because I was so mad.

My DH doesn't eat up stuff that I make - but he gives it away to share with friends and neighbors. I canned 12 jars of pickles. When I went to get a jar - there were NONE left. He truly thought I'd put some up in the cabinet. So I made him do all the prep work for me to make more.

I told DH that the failure to ask was bad, but eating the WHOLE thing was worse. Honestly, if it had been any other cookies I'd have been aggravated because it's just rude, wrong, and really bad for them...but GS cookies aren't replaceable by a Kroger run!

Oh well...He "talked" to them. Tomorrow I'm off work and I am removing all temptations to an undisclosed safe location. I'm not telling DH or anyone said location, ever.
