New school year...

Ss starts school tomorrow. He is already having a major attitude. Just trying to stay far away from it. Im looking into mommy n me stuff, so i hopefully will not be here at the time ss gets home.

Last year i started off "helping" because dh asked me to help him out. Yeah so beginning of year is hard, then it tappers off...i just cant be apart of it. My expectation is completely different than dhs. Ss forgets EVERYTHING so i was hard on him about using agenda book! What a joke. Noone else cares he is not using it. So i let it go. Dhs response as long as he knows what to do, i dont care. Of course ss did not remember everything, and dh had to follow up on missed assignments.

This year dh has again brought up me "Helping" lmao...no way. We are setting ss up in his room with a desk. Once the desk is setup and i know he has things he needs in said desk. Im out. I will not be in that room. Ss is mister big stuff and knows everything, dh thinks his kid is doing an awesome job, so i hope dh likes getting his email blown up with missed assignments because thats what WILL happen.

There just is no helping them out. If im on ss about HW, i am evil and mean. If ss did not finish HW or rushed through it and i have to show dh, then dh coddles ss and most of the time finishes it for him!

Ok im done. Lol. I just hate hw. I hate being asked to "help" when what they both want me todo is ignore the sloppy/half-@ssed work and say, wow you did a great job, but you miss spelled these words, oh thats ok I WILL fix it for you! Oh dh your son finished his hw all is right in the world no issues at all!! And here is your dinner i made while, i did ss hw for him so he can get back to his video games!!

I saw on the internet about a school that posted a sign that said something to the effect that if you are here to bring your child's forgotten homework, books, lunch, etc to turn around and go home - the students need to learn consequences. I loved that!

I don't think any child needs homework help unless they are truly struggling after a lot of effort on their part.

Haha i saw that too!

No he does not need help, i know it and i will not give him answers, or i ask him about his notes. He gets all wide eyed. I didnt have any, or he "left" them at school. Haha yeah right, he does not take notes. I wont help him. Then he farts around till dad gets home, then he gets all teary eyed to him. Dad does not ask for notes though.

I cannot wait for him to be up in his room, easier to ignore, and he wont come in the kitchen and stare at me, with that "i dont want to do my hw, so im going to act like i have no idea what im doing look"

I am, i want nothing to do with it.

I think what irritates me the most is the low standards. If ss writes a half @ssed paragragh(or it will be 2 sentences), he comes back with a good grade?!!
Last year towards the end of school year he missed a few days of school-he only got ONE worksheet from one subject. All the other teachers waved the work! :0

Its just terrible, kids are not held to any standard anymore, and it sounds like the teachers allow phones way more than i thought they would. (Based on how much ss talks about how much he uses it around them)
