Sharing and hypersensitivity

My BD2, b/c of her age, is horrible at sharing. Unfortunately, SD5 is, also, horrible at sharing. I truly believe that at 5 yo SD should be better at sharing than a 2yo.

This weekend I had bought the kids two books. BD was looking at one, SD at the other. Of course after a minute, SD wanted the one BD was looking at, but BD wasn't done with it. SD immediately starts throwing a temper tantrum b/c she wants it and BD doesn't want to give it to her. I notice SD stop crying and turned around to see her smiling as DH gives her the book BD had. It pisses me off to no end that 1)he didn't make her wait her turn,2)is enabling her entitlement(yes, I know, part of number 1), and 3)manipulated my 2yo into giving up what she didn't want to.

This happened on Saturday and I'm still fuming about this. Am I over reacting? I immediately blurted out that I thought that was a completely inappropriate way to handle the situation and stared him down. He said, "but she was done with it" and he made them exchange back.

I'm so pissed that he manipulates the other kids to give this little B what she wants. I'm also sick of his hypersensitivity about her behavior. Instead of overly defending her and saying that its just b/c I don't like her, why the f@ck doesn't he do something about it? How do I address situations like this with him and his hypersensitivity? How do I get him to make her follow the rules of the house;rules that were inplace before he was here and well before she ever stepped through the door of my house?

I just want everything to be fair among the kids...how do I help this kid be considerate to others and to stop acting so entitled? It's true, she is an only child, but she is never not around other kids...she's in kindergarten, had two years of preschool, goes to a sitters house 3 days a week whom has 3 girls themselves, and is with us every weekend. The only time she isn't around other kids is when she goes to grandparent's house 2 days a week and is only with BM a couple hours on Sunday. So she is ALWAYS around other kids...there are no excuses.
