A reminder that you have a right to be happy

I posted this to my Facebook page one year ago today. This is still true.

Manipulators thrive on getting their way no matter how it effects those around them. See if you recognize their tactics.
1. Threats - "I'm going to kill myself."
2. Intimidation - "Screaming, crying, ranting, silent treatment, emotional blackmail."
3. Playing the victim - "I didn't do anything to cause any of this."
4. Lying - This ranges from little white lies to big ole whoppers.
5. Guilt trips - "Everything (births, deaths, the weather)is your fault."
Do not allow yourself to be manipulated.
Remember:
1. You have the right to be treated with respect.
2. You have the right to express your feelings, opinions and wants.
3. You have the right to set your own priorities.
4. You have the right to say “no” without feeling guilty.
5. You have the right to get what you pay for.
6. You have the right to have opinions different than others.
7. You have the right to take care of and protect yourself from being threatened physically, mentally or emotionally.
8. You have the right to create your own happy and healthy life. IF THAT MEANS REMOVING SOMEONE FROM YOUR LIFE, DO IT WITHOUT REGRET.
