Nope. And we haven't since he launched at 18. For all but a few months of the last nearly 10 years we have not even lived on the same continent or two continents even connected to each other by land.
We would prefer to be able to see each other more than once or twice a year for a week or so at a time.
We do speak fairly regularly though not all that frequently. He is not an email or messenger guy and we are not gamers. International calls with time differences that make frequent calls burdensome.
...but my plan, which DH has agreed to, for now, is that we move closer to my family - thousands of miles away - once Skids are adults, so they would not live close to us.
Unless Skids join the military - which would be a good option for them - both of them will likely live in the midst of BM's orbit forever. She is not going to let go of her precious babies. Also, she will demonize DH regardless of whether we stay or leave, so we might as well leave and give ourselves some distance from BM's dysfunction (of which SKids will be participating in forever).
