My petition for equal parenting rights!
I thought this would be a great place to promote my cause and petition.
I started a petition (as well as a blog so you can read my personal reasons for wanting this law passed) in an effort to pass a law to make it ILLEGAL for parents to keep their child away from the co-parent without just cause or reasonable explanation. Not only have I dealt with this with my step children for the past 2 years, but my father was also a victim of discrimination when both my half brother and myself were living in unsuitable situations.
The outline for the law is on both the blog and the petition website, and it does cover cases of abuse.

Um, it is already illegal for a parent to ignore a court ordered parenting schedule.
I suspect your frustration is
I suspect your frustration is because it first requires a court ordered visitation or parenting schedule then you have to prove the violation. It's not easy to prove something beyond reasonable doubt and I'm sure even if such a law were on the books the police could simply be called to haul the offending spouse away. The resources simply are not there for domestic squabbles as important as they are to those involved.
