How is this done???

So, my name is Alicia, I'm 26 years old and I am married to the love of my life who has a 5 year old daughter.

She currently lives in Georgia with her mother and we live in Tennessee (about a 6 hour drive). We are supposed to start getting her in the summers after school lets out and before it goes back into session. Is this common for out of state parents? Does daycare let you pay for your child to be watched over that short amount of time? We both work full time jobs so we are kind of at a loss on who will watch my step daughter while we are at work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

A lot of day cares have summer programs and there are often "day camps" that function as day care...that part will probably be one of the easier obstacles.

Best wishes! (Not being sarcastic or snarky, I swear. Seriously, I hope it all works out well for you.)
