some peace at last...

well when hubby got home from work last night and once the little ones where in bed we talked over the situation with the invite and other matters and decided to decline the invite but instead of just saying no we emailed the brother and his fiance and told them how we currently feel about them and why and how it could be resolved the ball is now in their court to make amends. but hubby and i also discussed how i feel about his actions or lack there of when it comes to people dominating him in life and how he appears to be okay with being treaded like a door mat instead of standing his ground when pushed around. it felt good to air our grievences openly with out to much hostility but now the problem lies with whether or not he'll follow through on his words from last night i want to give him the benefit of the doubt but i guess only time will tell, he knows my terms so hopefully things will improve here on out.

sometimes it hurts to love someone so much and them being completely cluless to the fact that they are important to someone and that it does matter how they are treated.

I'm happy to hear that you and dh talked it over and reached an agreement together... I'm also glad to hear that you told the brother and his fiance how you feel... I hope things do get better.

I agree, it is very difficult to sit by and watch someone you love be treated with such disregard. I believe someone said in your other post that men generally try to avoid conflict any way they can, even if it's by letting people steamroll over them.

My DH was the same way with his ex, she would call and rant at him on the phone and I would sit there fuming because he would not stand up to her. I took matters into my own hands and had a few words to say, and even though she accused me of being his "secretary" things did change. She seldom calls anymore because she now knows she will not get her way.
