You are here

They are here before you - period.

Everything, everybody were here before you. Kinda like the new girl in school, if you don't fit in, you are the odd one out, the weirdo, the outcast; if you try to fit in, you are the competition, everyone who is already there thinks that you are trying to snatch their territory. So should you just suck it up until you become one of the "oldies"? Or you change school with your fingers crossed, hoping you can find one without mean girls?

**** Answer to some of you who are puzzled:

No, not referring to this board. My BF (or not quite sure if he is still my BF) told me that last night. And I decided I should sleep on the couch, so I did, last night, probably tonight also, this is HIS house, ya know!

>>>Are you talking about your idiot bf and his fire bug kids or this board?

Exactly what I was wondering Fox... ***scratching head***

No, he didn't tell me to sleep on the couch. I didn't want to sleep in the same bed with him after he told me they were here before me.

So your BF said he and kids were all there before you so suck it up? Still not clear on what happened. I haven't read the previous posts.

If I understand your post correctly, your BF sounds really cocky. Like he and his family are doing you a favor by letting you live there. I sure hope you've stopped cooking and cleaning for these people since your are only a guest.

I live in my SO's house. SS was there before me and I could give a rat's ass because I will be there after him. SS has to grow up and get his own place eventually. And by the way, I help pay bills and SS doesn't, I am an adult member of the household.

My new name from now one is 'I live here too!' because that's my response when SO gets ideas about making unilateral decisions about the house. If he wants that he can afford to be without my share of expenses.

I know I'm talking tough but I have to continually psych myself up to assert myself. And that is what I tell myself when I have to assert my rights in my home.

A lot of divorced parents seem to feel like this. Problem is, it is way to easy for kids to manipulate the adults if THEY ever feel like this. You have to present a united front and air your grievances in private with the other.

The kids NEEDS come first but the ADULTS are the final decision makers. It is NOT in any child's best interest to give in to all of their demands.

Your so called BF is an ass and I would be quickly looking for a place of your own and getting the hell OUT of HIS house.

^^^ THIS right here would probably make me walk right out the door and "change schools" so to speak.
