OT - Eff Off Friday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

This has been a loooooooong week and crazy-busy at work. Protein shakes (yippee) for breakfast and fruit/nuts for lunch because I haven't had time to make anything. And working past my end time every effing day because the work keeps getting piled on. No, I do not get overtime, so today I will be clocking out on time and sprinting to the kitchen for a martini.

Eff off to:

  • King Pita and his effing zoom meetings. Effer, you never STFU at the 30-minute mark and your meetings always last 60-90 minutes. Every.Effing.Time. Yet when I ask if you could schedule the meetings for an hour, I'm met with crickets from you and protests from your minion (Princess Pita) because you two effers don't have anything else on the calendar. Newsflash effers: I DO!!! I have missed four other meetings this week because KP can't STFU. Why can't this effer transfer to ANYwhere? Pitcairn Island, Coober Pedy, Longyearbyen... pick one. PLEASE!!!
  • Getting The Vax. You know what vax. THAT vax. I'm effing sick of this being THE conversation my coworkers are having. Every effing day! My medical information is confidential. You pushing me for that info is about to get you pushed to HR and a HIPAA discussion.
    • If I have gotten vaxxed: NUNYA
    • If I'm scheduled to get vaxxed: NUNYA
    • If I'm not getting vaxxed: NUNYA
    • If there is a medical reason I am ineligible to get vaxxed: NUNYA
    • Which vax I'm getting: NUNYA
    • Did my DH get vaxxed: definitely effing NUNYA
    • NUNYA in regards to anything to do with any other member of my family, my postman, or the folks at my local grocery store.
    • And stop sending me vax info! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

When all of this quarantine business started and 'social distancing' was set at 6 feet, Finnish people everywhere said, "So close?" Frankly, this Finn would prefer 6 MILES!

Wishing you a stress-free and enjoyable weekend. *give_rose*

EFF off to my previous assistant. She called out for the 8th day in 5 weeks on Wednesday so I fired her yesterday.

Cleaning out her desk and going through her files was enough to make me want to throat punch her if I ever see her again. LAZY would be the biggest understatement ever.

Then this broad went to the owner of the company to complain that I don't do my job. He sent me a screenshot and shut her down fast. Yes, I deal with personal things during work- but I have earned the right and still manage to do my freaking job. There is never a question of whether JMTB will get something done and done right. He wanted me to fire her a month ago. I should have!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

8th day in 5 weeks? Crikey! She's got a lot of nerve complaining about you. Effing wench.

Where is my freakin' flooring estimate?!?!  Why do you spend the time to go somewhere and measure and then disappear off the face of the planet?

TGIF everyone!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Evil Aniki would be making phone calls, which would include other contractors!

justmakingthebest's picture

I work in contracting.... The industry is crazy right now. There is no excuse for not keeping in touch and keeping you updated but I will say our turn around for number right now is 2-3 weeks :(

Aniki-Moderator's picture

"There is no excuse for not keeping in touch and keeping you updated..."

EXACTLY!!!

caninelover's picture

It is really simple - we're pulling out carpet and installing Pergo in one bedroom (Bratty's old room he he).

I may have to call others but seems like you're saying just expect slow going.

The rest of the work (paint, etc) we're planning to do on our own so we're anxious to get the flooring done...

caninelover's picture

Until wine o'clock for me.

Unless I pour some in my coffee mug and no one will be the wiser Smile

Eff Off to people who eat during Zoom meetings. I know you're home in your kitchen but WE CAN SEE YOU up close chewing that sandwich with your mouth open. And this person NEVER SHUTS UP except to take a bite.

Maybe King Pita's sister?

Aniki-Moderator's picture

"...WE CAN SEE YOU up close chewing that sandwich with your mouth open."

Bad

And I just flashed back to grade 4 when one of my schoolmates was chomping on an egg salad sandwich. Mouth open. To this day, I have never been able to hear "egg salad" without grimacing and shuddering slightly. Blech!

queensway's picture

I agree about eating during Zoom meetings. But it could be worse if you were in a Zoom meeting with Jeffrey Toobin. I still can't stop laughing about that one.

Diablo

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Queen, I cannot find the original zoom but heard about it. What a freaking moron!!!

caninelover's picture

On the last family Zoom call we had to suffer through Bratty making her nasty box of vegan mac and cheese, then proceeding to stuff her face on video.

If you need to eat please turn off your video and just explain that you're eating lunch during the call.  People will understand and appreciate it!

queensway's picture

Is vegan mac and cheese even a real thing? Never heard of it. And would never what to eat it.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Right?! I've tasted vegan cheese. Oh.Em.Gee. Give me some dandelions to chew on.

caninelover's picture

And Bratty went on and on about how delicious it was while she was stuffing her face.  So annoying.

Yes its a thing.  I saw some boxes on the shelf in our local Vons the other day.  Nasty chemicalized franken-food.

bananaseedo's picture

Eff off to anything vegan and most vegan people. I say most because I"m sure there are exceptions, but i haven't met one yet that wasn't a downright ahole and annoying.  Not vegetarians but vegans, OMG I can't stand you lol

Cover1W's picture

LOL - I was just meeting with my boss, in my workout gear, with a cup of coffee and oatmeal.

I warned her about the state of my clothing and breakfast (it was a an early meeting) and only ate a bite when she was looking stuff up or we were reviewing a spreadsheet. No open mouth!  Small bites!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I couldn't do the workout attire during zoom. Even if it was before/after my regular work hours, I'd have to wear regular work clothing. If hungry, I'd grab a protein shake. Or (evening) pour my cocktail into the protein shake bottle! *lol*

Cover1W's picture

Yeah, if it had been a more formal meeting, for sure!  But early on the fly - not entirely ready for meetings yet. We tend not to have them before 9:00 so this was unusual.

Cover1W's picture

Eff off:

I'm with Aniki - to WORK.

It's been insane the last two weeks, lots of late nights, checking on things periodically on the weekend, last minute deadlines and budget checking.  Exhausting.

Today I am loggin off between 2 - 3 pm and THAT'S IT.

....so now I have to get busy to finish a budget review before 2:00!

Cover1W's picture

BUDGET STUFF DONE FOR THE DAY.  I have lunch then to get a couple loose ends tied up and I'm logging off at 3:00.  Not 2:00, but 3:00 is OK!  YAY!

Cover1W's picture

DAMMIT.

A team leader added someting that's due TODAY for someone and of course, who processes thse things?  Moi.

Now I have to wait for a response before I can do anything at all.

SteppedOff's picture

Who took all of the red jelly beans?!?

SteppedOff's picture

I can honestly say I am always glad when the beans are out for the season. I am like an addict!

Someone mentioned Brachs sells bags of just red....I don't even want to go there *dance4*

Stepdrama2020's picture

to only 2 day weekends. Like who came up with that idea?

Eff off to feeling burnt out.

caninelover's picture

For the last 10 years of my career unfortunately.  Retirement can't come soon enough.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Caninelover, I hear you. A year of zooming with KP has me ready to buy lottery tickets every week!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I'd like a 2-day work week and a 5-day weekend. Same pay, of course.

Seriously, I would very much like to work four 10-hour days and have a 3-day weekend!.

Stepdrama2020's picture

Eff off also finding it hard to say NO. I keep covering extra hours for this chick who has an "active" social life. She calls in sick all the dang time.  She knows I have no life LOL so I am the go to. I care about the company and my boss so I feel stuck with saying no and feeling bad for the boss.

TGIF

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Chick needs to get her effing priorities straight! What would happen if you were no available?

IDontCare3117's picture

Eff off to Evil Aniki's post giving me ugly flashbacks of a former STalker.  Old Timers know exactly who I'm talkin' about.

tog redux's picture

Ugh. SO busy. All the kids who didn't come in for therapy since last March all came at once this March. And we are short- staffed because positions were frozen. Kids are struggling. It's bad.

Had to tell my team it's time to come back to their offices 4 days a week, remote days are coming to an end.

Almost time for some of DH's home made mead. Gotta get home first.

caninelover's picture

We were just told they will start having people return to offices July 4th but a skeleton crew at first and we'll probably only be going in 3 days a week.

Frankly I hate commuting (45 minutes each way for me, longer if there's a crash) so its been nice working from home.  I may see if I can get away with 2 days in the office...he he he.

tog redux's picture

We are in health care, no good excuse to still be home and people want to be seen in person.

MissK03's picture

Eff off to everything today.

I stopped at the liquor store on my way home today and grabbed a bottle of tequila. Margaritas for me!

Merry's picture

Me too! I have LOTS of limes to use up, and I just can't in good conscience let them go to waste.

MissK03's picture

I've been on a kick! I hadn't one in since before COVID last year and a few weeks ago I was like damn... I could go for a margarita..drinking them up now! Haha

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Yum!
