OT - Thankful Monday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Yes, I'm early! But Thursday is a holiday and I'll be crazy-busy baking pies.

I am thankful for:

  • Being able to spend time with my family and hope that my b!tchster-in-law and her beeyotch mother don't try to pull that typical high school mean girl act because I am SO not putting up with it!
  • My family. Even though both of my brothers married PITA prima donnas (~gag~), I love my family and we are a strong unit. Not everyone is lucky enough to have that and I am eternally grateful for it.
  • Having a 4-day, skid-FREE weekend with my DH! We work different shifts, so we'll be able to spend all day Friday together. Woo hoo!
  • My STalk family. Wishing you a lovely Thankigiving, and hoping it's peaceful and drama-free.

I am Thankful for:

  • DH's meds getting here this week. He's got depression brain and his flight and fight response is pretty well ALWAYS on. I love him, but oh my gosh I wanted to punch him Saturday. I FULLY understand it's just the chemicals in his brain. But he's gone from Mr. Logic, to dettached and irrational fears in the last few weeks
  • DH stepping up a few things in regards to childcare.
  • My furbabies who always know how to make me feel loved when I'm down
  • My sister coming into town!!!
  • No Psycho for three weeks straight! Looking forward to week 3 where the kids will be settled and hopefully we'll actually get a good nice normal week!!!
  • I'm cooking most of thanksgiving, which, while it seems like a lot of work, also means we'll actually get to eat food I like this year! Yay!

Oof. This is tough...because I have the holiday blues pretty bad already.

But.

  • I'm thankful that we're going away for nearly a week starting tomorrow morning - to hang with friends on an island. NO SKIDS!!!
  • I am thankful that my Ohio sister AND my D.C. sister are both coming into town for Christmas. It's rare we get all 6 siblings together, so I'm really looking forward to it.
  • I am thankful that my mom just turned 60 and we were able to have an amazing celebration for her (two 6-sibling events in one year is unheard of...this year we'll have gotten 4: Brother's wedding, Sister's 30th, Mom's 60th...and now Christmas. Been a family-heavy year.)
  • I am thankful that DH is doing some writing and hasn't totally given into despair and depression, which seemed to be the direction he was headed this summer.
  • I am thankful that my little sister, who had a health care in the spring and had to take a medical withdrawal, is fully recovered and heading back to grad school in the January.

I know there's a lot more...I really have a lot to be thankful for.

I live in an incredibly beautiful place...in the foothills of the Blue Ridge...and we're just 3 short hours from the ocean and a ton of gorgeous islands to choose from :)

Mountains and the beach. Can't beat it!

Having Tuesday through Friday off!!

That my cell phone range extender is working

That I will be picking up a previously enjoyed 2010 Silverado in Virginia on Saturday  (this will come in especially handy as Awesome son and DIL will be closing on their first house and we are helping them get it un-winterized when they close)

Tuesday through Friday - you lucky woman! I'm off Wednesday, but it's for medical procedures. Blech. Hoping I won't be too sick to enjoy the tasty eats on turkey day.

Happy Early Thanksgiving Aniki and all steppers!

I am thankful that in 2 short hours I am on vacation and in less than 24 hours DH and I will be on a plane to celebrate in another state.  Just the two of us having Thanksgiving our way!

I'm thankful for having the whole week off of work and to avoid the new manager stresses.

I'm thankful for DH and his constant love, even if I am crazy sometimes, and his taking me away for the holiday.

I am thankful for my new countertop, sink and faucet being installed within two hours! And my amazing contractor for making himself available after hours to hook up the plumbing tonight.

I am thankful for my sister! Who is hilarious and understanding.

I am thankful for SD12 who is so far still turning out to be a good person.

I am thankful for my two sweet kitty cats who are love bugs.

I know there are things to be thankful for, of course there are...I'm just having trouble truly appreciating them when some things seem so off.

I'm thankful for the 4-day wknd.

Thankful my dad is mostly recovered from his car accident, and is able to pop into my work to say hi again. That is usually the extent of him going out of his way to see me.

It's sad that that's all I have right now. So many things on my mind weighing me down.

Honey, I'm sorry you're feeling down. I know what it's like to have to look harder for good things. {{{hugs}}}

Good news about your Dad! *give_rose*
