Being a secret for the sake of his kids?

smek121's picture

Hi. I just joined about an hour ago. I am going through a divorce and the man I am involved with is also going through a divorce - basically because of each other. We've been in a relationship since summer of 2004. There have been periods when his estranged wife knew about us and periods when I am kept a secret.

Older Step-Daughter Takes, but Doesn't Give

I am 36 years old and I re-married a wonderful guy (he is 14 years older) 2 years ago. My husband has 2 grown children, a daughter of 24 and son of 21. My problem lies with the daughter. My husband and I have been together for nearly 5 years and I have always been very supportive of both of his kids and have never tried to take the place of their mother (who lives in the area.)

My crazy life! =) SSSOOOO LONG! but well worth the entertainment

Ok well I am new here so I will give you my whole crazy story here. Its very long! Ok my fiance and I have one child together, she is 8 months old. He was married once before, he has a 15 year old daughter, and a 9 year old son. The ex wife is crazy. From the beginning the kids had been coming to stay with us every other weekend and for at least a week of their school breaks, and most of the summer. We live three hours away from them, so thats six hours for one trip. Six hours on Friday and six hours on Sunday to take them back....which is a lot of time and gets to be a lot of money.

bad stepmom?

I feel terrible, my 12 yr old step daughter drives me crazy. I feel like I am always short and curt with her just because I am sick of her thinking she knows everything, she argues everything I say, says no to everything and then tells us how it is supposed to be done. I can't stand it, she is also very disrespectful to her dad. I try to set rules for her in the house and she does them for the most part except the keeping the room/bathroom clean rule. She even gets paid if this one is done - it doesn't have to be deep cleaned just picked-up, no clutter.

HELP

I HAVE A 1YR OLD AND A 6YR OLD SD. HER MOTHER IS DRIVING US CRAZY IT IS PETTY CALL AFTER PETTY CALL. I DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH HER DIRECTLY SO IF SOMTHING IS SAID I FEEL LIKE I CANNOT DEFEND MYSELF. I THINK IT IS HIS BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR DAUGHTER BUT IT IS GETTING TO THE POINT THAT ME AND MY 1YR ARE GETTING METALLY ATTACKED. I AM EITHER TRYING TO BE HER MOTHER (WHICH I KNOW I'M NOT BUT I DO HELP TAKE CARE OF HER WHEN SHE IS THERE)OR I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Does SM mean live-in babysitter?

One of my best friends is getting married in May. I guess I should say "our best friends", since my DH is now close with them as well. Anyway, the fiance is going to Vegas for his bachelor weekend in March and it falls on a weekend where DH has the girls. We were trying to figure out if he would be able to go and he was like "you can keep them, can't you?". This hit me wrong. He will be gone from Friday until Tuesday, so he wouldn't be there AT ALL the entire time we had them. So, I said nope, sorry.

So proud of my BF!

BF was dropping SS off after visitation this weekend. BM has a habit of opening the door of the vehicle to help unload SS's stuff, but just standing there inside the door and talking to BF instead so that he can't pull away because he'd hit her with the vehicle or the door. So she's going on and on, and eventually she tells him that her laptop is broken again. She said it in a way that was evident to BF she wanted him to fix it. He said, "Considering the last time I worked on your laptop I was brought to court and accused of hacking it, I don't know what to tell you." Her jaw dropped!
