Yesterday H was all nice and wonderful over the phone. Of course he was-he wanted me to take SD14 out for lunch, and give her yet more money for her birthday....she had a party 2 weeks ago, which yes, I went to. Gave her $75.00. Her birthday is today, so yesterday he wanted me to give her another $25.00 & take her out. oh, girls, he was so nice to me. Oh, thanking me, so appreciative.
Today. Back to his normal self. I was so happy-the gift I ordered him for Christmas came. So I told him-not what it was-just that it came.
Me: I'm so happy-your Christmas present came.
Looking back on this time last year, I can see a huge change is SS's behavior. He's been getting worse and worse a little at a time, and over time it's accumulated to make him a lot different than he used to be.
My birthday was on saturday. It was the worst birthday I have ever had, not because anything bad happened, but b/c nothing happened. It would have been a fine day had it not been my bday. My DH had to remind the skids to say happy birthday to me. They didn't even make me a card or anything. I have lived with them for 2 years. My DH had been sick with the flu for the three days prior which he says interfered with all of his surprise plans for me. So he took me out to a store to buy a pair of shoes I had wanted and we went to breakfast. He did try but he had been so sick before.
So far, nothing has come of SD's grandfather pushing the custody issue. He had planned on going to the police at the end of last week to file a report, but due to the snow storm he had to work pretty much all day Friday and most of the weekend (works for electric co) so as of yesterday, he was planning on going today. I really hope this all does not lose momentum. SD has gotten her hopes up around this issue too many times, and I'd hate to see it all fall apart now.
Just another thing that I have to vent about because I just don't get this at all...Step Brat (age 12) is all picky about her clothes and how her hair is styled...(IE..not liking the shoes purchased for the recital or the shirt that I pulled out of my closet to let her try on for said recital.) And she is real big into having accessories ect. However, what I don't get is that she is so concerned about her clothing and her hair "looking retarded". Yet, her hair is greasy as hell.

For some reason DH thinks it is MY responsibility to take care of HIS kids. We have tried to do the "family" thing, nothing we did worked so I have tried to disengage. DH is absolutely not allowing it. He has a son 7 from an ex girlfriend and a daughter 2 from an ex wife (not the same women). I have a daughter 7 with my exhusband and my current DH and I have a son 1 together. Anyway, all day today DH has been playing video games and pretty much just hanging out. Normally that would be fine (well what I'm used to anyway) but he left all 4 kids for me to take care of.
Yesterday was my birthday and H gave me the best present ever - in the six years we have been together (friends/dating and married) he has never given me this before. Because I have gained strength and support from all on this site - I know that was a direct impact to this gift.
He gave me an apology - AND it was in writing on a birthday card he actually picked out with thought!
Well, we all made it!! My kids flight was canceled on Friday, so my DH & I, and our little one got a hotel in Boston, and watched the snow fall!! We did have a good time, the place was nice, and I got to destress, knowing my kids were flying in the next morning. They made it, but it took forever for them to de-board the plane, cause all the gates were full, there were alot of cancelations, and delays. So we drove home and the snow started again, and got home after 5pm. We got soooo much snow here on the Cape it is unbelieveable.
