Should we give up our Thursdays?
My girlfriend told me once several years ago that my looks and personality attract men to me, but as soon as they have me, they want me to change all that.
Every man I have dated has tried to change me. They want me to now start acting differently when we're out. Be LESS outgoing and friendly (which SO's consider flirting!), watch the eye contact (considered flirting, too!), and ONLY pay attention to ME ME ME ME ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If SM has time and her BK are at there BD, should she carve out time to spend time with SS who is 11? I think you have to make an effort to build relationships when given the opportunity. This should be the attitude of a step parent correct?
Can I get a vote that communication is the key in a bleneded family between the new couple?
Well after last night I thought things would get better. They didn't...something is up with SS14, he doesn't want to talk or listen. I tried talking to him yesterday and he has this weird creepy grin on his face. I asked him to clean his room, he said no. I tripped on his skate board and told him to move it, he said no. I took it and put it on the porch and he said "I sware to God if you put my skate board on the grass!..." I had to cut him off. I said
Today will be another visit to the counseler for my wife and i. i keep hoping that today something will spark her to understand where I'm coming from. She is the first relationship I've had with someone who is not romantic, sentimental and non-communicative on issues that arise within the family or us! Wish us luck!
SD17 told two different stories to her BM and DH so she would be able to go to homecoming. However, it backfired when BM called me to confirm that SD could go to homecoming, because BM had a family event planned on the same day, and had specifically planned it for her weekend. SD wanted to switch weekends to go to homecoming instead. SD told BM that DH said it was ok and everything was all planned out and they need to switch weekends. Funny DH didn't know anything about homecoming, much less switching weekends.
Right, hello anyone that's reading. I decided a blog would be a good way to get some of my frustrations, ponderings & thoughts about semi-step-mothering out there.
When responding to other's post's, I only have a place to post the body. Where in the hell did the Title bar go?!!! Help!!!!
All was good, great actually. We allowed boyfriend from colorado, where BM lives and she spends summers, to come visit. what I think to be a very nice and accomodating thing to do. All was roses and hugs and kisses with us till he arrives then shit goes to hell. My husband is a bartender and worked thurs, fri. and sat night leaving me as the watch dog. Thursday night I catch them past bed time, she has school the next day, under the covers shirts on but who know what was going on. they are 15. I handled this one very well. I told him to go to bed and i was unhappy.
