My income and "His" child support

Looking for Canadian Info

Any one know if my financial background and income will effect what my soon to be Husband pays in child support? I am selling my house and bringing in a large amount of money into the relationship. We've had the pre-nup conversation but it's not finalized yet. Thanks in advance.

Your income is not considered when calculating his child support. I came into my relationship with a good financial backing sold my house and we bought another house with this money. Non of this came into factoring what he pays in child support. It is only his income that is relevant.

I'm pretty sure someone posted a few days ago that in Canada, the ONLY thing that matters in the CS payment is the father's income. I don't think they even factor the mother's income into the payment.

if you go to your government websight or even your county web sights
(do you have countys in Canada?) you should be able to find out the child support guide lines for you area. In Mn its only the
Bio-parents income, in which our case was she doesnt work so my hubby supports him 80% (on paper) but 100% realisticaly. good luck

I would get a living trust. We have one that excludes SD (she's waaaay well off with BM's side of the family). Although, if she really wants to, she can probably fight for something if something should happen to us.
