You are here

Just realized something...

I have been on this site for 7.5 years :jawdrop:

My, my, my...when I think back on all that has happened, in life and on this site, it's crazy. In life, my kids were teenagers when I first made my way here. Now they are adults, working, in grad school, raising their own families. I used to see the skids every other weekend and now I see them every single damn day. I have had two different jobs than the one I was working when I first came here. I wasn't married....

In STalk land - the friendships that began and ended. Those that persevered. Those that were lost and then reconstituted. People I am glad are no longer here, those I miss every day, and those that I find myself friendly with now when we weren't in the past.

Life IS like a box of chocolates - you never do know what you're going to get.

Getting to know just a small bit of you has been a privilege and you’re an amazing model of SM xx

I remember….you went into disengagement kicking and screaming. Lol. I see that mine says I have been here 7 years and 36 weeks. But I was here about a year before that under a different name. Funny….I don’t even remember that name.

crazy how time passes.

And, your definition of disengaged is still slightly different from mine. I am of the "anything that affects my household/house/money/future" is certainly my concern camp, but now I deal with DH Smile

I am so glad you are here. You have given me
Some really good advice over the years and I have enjoyed your Wit and the tales of Medusa, Ass, Babyvoice, Karate Kid and Money Ka. I laugh every time I read that nickname

you know what? I laugh at it every time I type it. It's just soooo fitting.

Man oh man, what a difference now that my kids are all adults. That, and the fact that Asshat and Money-Ka now live in Boston. I NEVER have to deal with them and RARELY have to see them.

I have been here nearly 7 years - when I joined I was in despair, run ragged by NPD BM and the SDs. Now I am no longer on the back foot, I am sitting back and watching entertaining car crash TV - ie NPD BM and her daughters reaping the whirlwind of their earlier choices. }:)

I have been on this site for 8.4 years. I have seen many people come and go on here. This site actually taught me alot, and really helped provide insight into the fact that most situations are not unique.

The one thing I have learned is the path to success is to make yourself happy. If there is one thing I would tell other step-mothers, it is to make yourself number 1 in the equation.

I will never forget the milestone in my relationship with my dh, was when I was completely fed up with his behavior. I flat out told him that I was done and that I didn't like who I was becoming. I told him that I loved him, but that I love myself more. That I was going to live to make me happy. I was done giving ultimatums, I would just walk out that door if he didn't make me happy.

Over four years later, we are happy!

That would be right up there with my suggestions, too. And not just in a step mom situation, in a bio mom situation, too. If no one is taking care of the caretaker, no one is going to receive care.

WOB, has it really been that long?

I am not too far off that number. Mehhh who is counting.

WOB Your names for everyone as noted above HAVE caused me many, many deep belly laughs or spritzes of coffee. ASS lol, babyvoice. OMG still makes me giggle. Thanks WOB for those laughs usually when I needed them the most. Smile

I do miss the Ass stories. I still am proud of myself for guessing what instrument he played, lol.

I've got two more years now with ss16 too, looks like you and I will have to throw a party!

For sure! And, I WAS impressed that you figured out his instrument!!
