Deep Breaths...

TwoOfUs's picture

Skids come for TEN days starting tomorrow. I can't fathom why we get them for both weekends on either side of a holiday???

This also means that we get them for our regular weekend the following week...meaning three weekends in a row with skids for me. Please help!!!

Oh yes. And DH scheduled a major work event (200+ people) for the second weekend of spring break...April 1-3. Sometimes I don't understand him at all...or, more like, I wonder how he can misunderstand me so badly? I know if I mentioned the horrible timing for me to have to run an event he'd be completely confused. This is just life, he'd say. People do life with kids in tow all the time...

Um...yeah. But I don't...

Anyone else have a DH who is completely mystified by the stress that having skids over causes you?

Luckily my DH gets it, but he's very type A, so I have to remind him I'm not Wonderwoman from time to time.

Can you schedule some time away from these kids? I would think it's time for a hair appointment... or can you use the event as an excuse to get away?

I'm not sure if you have your own kids as well, but they need shoes, or you need shoes... someone always seems to need shoes, right? Grab your calendar and get busy! Smile

lol.

I don't have kids, which is what makes 10 days such a shock to the system. But I do need shoes for the event. And a haircut.

My DH is Type A, too. The problem is, I'm already busy...don't have to make any effort to get busy next week with this event on the horizon. I work from home...so does my DH. But his office is in the basement, far away from all the activity of the house. He has a tendency to go down there for the full day...while I'm up here in the midst of friends being over and Netflix binge sessions...and then wonder why I wasn't productive like he was?!

DH doesn't understand why I don't like having Puke here during the week. I work from home and he works outside the home so he isn't here to be distracted by her. Of course, even if he worked from home, he'd not get annoyed by her as he hardly ever does. It's not just Puke, I don't like it when he is home either. He pops into my office throughout the day so I have to stop what I'm doing.

I don't have any kids so having an instant skid is not something he fully understands. I don't think he gets that I don't see Puke as he does or just overlook her bad behaviors. He's always saying he's just gotten used to it. Well I haven't and won't.

Exactly.

I actually am happiest when DH is working out of the home for the day. That's when I get the most accomplished and feel the best about my day. He does the "pop in" to chat thing, too. Really annoying.

And, yes. Instant skids is the worst.

lol. I would if it weren't for this event. I need to work hard all week to get it launched.

Just going to pray that skids have lots of work plans and plans with friends OUTSIDE of the home.
