Ok! I am so excited!!! I dont know if anyone remembers me posting about my sd and her bathing/hair washing ordeals...i'll explain again.

About 6 months ago my SD got this fear of washing her hair due to ear troubles. I understand this and wanted to help in anyway that I could. Well the first few weeks I was all about washing her hair from the kitchen sink. I would basically wash her hair for her. Her BM did the same thing. Well, the weeks turned into months and it got to the point where we were enabling her. She did not want to get in the shower and wash and it was a big mess.

I begged and begged my husband to talk to BM. He would always say he would but it never happend.

Then about a week ago we opened our swimming pool and guess who was the first one that wanted to get in it and swim....the SD.

I basically told the sd that if she was going to swim she HAD to was her hair as soon as she got out and she was to do it by herself.

She gave me a little lip and told me that her bm was really the one that did not want her washing her hair because the bm was the one that was scared her ears would get water in them.....

I then asked the sd... But, your mom is ok with you swimming? She said yeah cause I was earplugs.

After that I told her , Well here if you swim you will was your own hair in the shower. If you can wear earplugs in pool you can wear them in the shower and that is how it is going to be.

She went swimming and came in and washed her hair...I even told her to let me smell it to see if she did it! And SHE DID!

I just told her how it was going to be...i wasnt going to baby her anymore! Maybe that is mean, but I was tired of it!

Don't you love how as a stepmom, you're good enough to conduct a smell test on someone else's kid?? God! The things we go through!

Good thinking...fast on your feet. That's just good mommying.
