Update To I Did It!

Well, as predicted,  the "Special Education Committee" totally failed to address Chef's concerns that I expressed in a letter to pointing out the fact that none of the skids have EVER been parented and this is the real reason for their failure to keep up in school.

In fact, they sent a letter DROPPING the standards for class attendance and any kid who doesn't come to class for an extended period of time no longer needs a Doctor's excuse.

As long as said kid SAYS he/she was out due to illness with a "note from parent" (wink, wink) will be counted as a LEGAL absence!  Seems like there'll be many more forged parent notes in the near future!

So as expected, this committee rubber-stamped YSSstb 16 in as ADHD and that he "struggles to maintain organization of materials as well as attention and focus during classes and testing situations."     It is listed that the Girhippo was at the meeting no doubt wielding her MOTY act over the attendees.  So he automatically receives a Section 504 Accomodation just as SD20 did.  He gets 1.5 extended time to finish quizzes (which he usually skips the day of anyway) And testing in a group of less than ten students at a time.  Same BS as they did for SD which didn't amount to a hill of beans because of truancy and failure of the Gir to follow through.

He gets the passing 10 points below fail get out of jail free card as well as the "Compensatory Option Of The Safety Net" which I think means he can stay in High School till he's 21.

Let's just incentivise failure to launch!

So now what?  Can you get Chef to totally write them off?  Can you finally have some peace in your life??

for CS to drop off at this point.  He has already written them off.

they can't stay till 21 with a 504 plan. I believe the safety net means they have to pass a lesser number of state tests in order to graduate (are you in NY? theyre called regents exams here). So at least he should be out at 18, though im sure he will float aimlessly being useless through his young adulthood...

Although writing it gave you a sense of satisfaction, and anyone who read it at the school probably agreed with what was written, the letter having any affect on the outcome of the meeting was equivalent to the odds of winning the lottery. Actually, the odds of winning the lottery were better. The Gir may be an awful parent, but she is the parent who writes the notes, who sees the teachers. The parent the school deals with regularity. That Chef has been pushed out of the child’s life is not on their radar.

YSS is following his sister’s path. Expect him to enroll in community college to continue child support.

of the three.  I can see him getting in to fights with SDBB as passive as SDBB is.  SD20 dropped out of CC in less than 3 months.  Thats why at some point, the CO and MOU has to be tightened up.

From the States to keep drop out rates, and failed rates down.  Especially in NY. So many school districts in NY if the kid shows up most of the time they pass them, they have to do no work at all.  Because they get a percent of kids who don’t show up and have to fail them.  That all the failers they can take.  So don’t think the schools are going to do anything for you.
