Yum!

I haven't tried Patron so I'm not sure. I do have Sauza silver at home in a speed pour with a cap (like all my other booze)

I'm not into cocktails. More Beer or straight liquor.

However DH and I have this thing where we will order a fancy cocktail to share when we go out to dinner. Smile It's like a little thing between us.

I'm liking some of the single malt whiskeys these days. For beer I like anything from crafts to guiness to white wheat citrus beers.

I'm lame...I drink Bud Light. Coors Light if I buy my own beer. DH always buys Bud Light.

I do like an Apple or Pear Cider on occasion.

we're worse than lame, we're broke - we drink natty ice or icehouse.... LOL!!!

i love bud lite lime or corona. if the mood strikes, even a guinness. but we haven't had any of those in a very, very long time.

you could make a virgin cocktail substituting club soda for the liquor.

also how can you possibly make it through StepMomhood WITHOUT liquor? But I digress. . .

glad to see you're on a path to healthiness. And I can see how someone could develop alcoholism from the sheer stress of being a stepmom.

Ugh, I was just thinking about what a boring hag I am this morning. I couldn't tell you the last time I drank and you know why? I HATE having a headache. I guess that's why I was thinking about it this morning because I had a headache and was annoyed and thought why in the world did I actually GIVE myself a headache back in the day by drinking????

I do like strawberry daiquiris and foo foo drinks like that, but one would be the limit. I HATE beer.. can't even stand the smell of it... could never get it past my nose! Sad

a stoned stalin. Wink

ok, back from fantasy land. i can't afford cocktails, but in the past have had a great fondness for a vodka tonic w/ lime, vodka and any kind of fruit juice (but preferably super tart like lemonade or cranberry juice), or for sweet i like a white russian.

Liquor, straight liquor. Like my coffee, I want it strong, and I want it to work.

I enjoy brandy in the cooler months, dark rum in the summer.

Occasionally, I go on a bloody mary bender. And I like a crisp, dry cider on a hot day.

Martinis are my preferred poison. Desert dry (no vermouth) and dirty (olive juice) with bleu-cheese stuffed olives.

When I'm in the mood for something sweet, I make my own.

Aniki's Nectar

1 oz. strawberry rum
1 oz. St. Germain Elderflower liqueur

Shake with ice and strain into an oversized martini glass.
Fill with chilled prosecco.
Float a strawberry slice on top and an edible flower on the strawberry.
You can also rim the glass with finely chopped, edible flowers.

I much prefer a good G&T (made with craft gin) and vodka tonics (craft vodka please!).
With Lemon rather than lime.

Every once in a while I'll have a more complex cocktail, less sweet, but I have no favorites.

But normally it's a glass of wine.

Cover1W's picture

Ditto.
My gin and vodka bottles, 1/2 liter, can last in my cupboard over a year.
A bottle of wine? One to two days. (both DH and I drinking it not just me!)

And I've got a lovely white in the fridge now to open up tonight...yum!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

DAYS?? OMG!! You're killing me, Smalls!! If you can't drink the bottle the day/night you open it.... aaaaaaaauuuuuggggghhhh!!!

Cover1W's picture

Well, that's a weeknight. LOL.
I generally get home late and work early so literally don't have TIME to drink it.

However, weekends...that's another story.

I have morphed over the years. I used to ONLY drink Captain and Diet Coke, but now that is too sweet. I can't handle the sweet anymore. Sometimes even margarita's are too sweet if they aren't made by my favorite bartender at my favorite Mexican place.

Generally I drink Tito's and Tonic with lime. YUM! I have found little cans of sparkling water with vodka, with just a little bit of flavor. Right now I have grapefruit. They are pretty damn good.

Even with wine, too sweet is no good for me. I do enjoy a good Malbec though.

And... now I am thirsty.

Old Fashion.... because whiskey. And DH's homemade bitters.

I LOVE whiskey. Blanton's, Bulliet, Rowan's Creek.

If not whiskey, craft beer. So many local breweries in my city. For mass produced, Sierra Nevada is a few blocks away from our house.

Di Saronno is THE amaretto!! I won't drink any other. It's very tasty mixed with pineapple juice.

And now I really AM on my way home.

But only when I get them for 25 cents at Commander's Palace in New Orleans. Other wise it is an IPA beer.

DH and I stocked up on booze at Costco before Christmas thinking that we might entertain. We didn't but when I checked out our booze (after the SS home invasion) we had 5 LITERS of empty booze bottles.

I hate those MFers.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Notasm, that still yanks my chain. I spend a lot of time and effort (and money!) choosing quality wines and liquors/liqueurs. Regardless, to be violated in that way by FAMILY!! Grrrrrrr.... Flying Five Fist Monkey Nut Punch x1000 for your arsehole SS.

We don't drink. Kind of lame I guess. Lol But I just don't enjoy it. I have my herbal tea right now.

Acratopotes's picture

nope like single malt, it's soft and well a bottle a day ......

but I might have to give it up now... cause my brand is not being imported any more... dammit...
can't find a substitute lol, tried the other wisky brands and it's simply just to wild....
I hate watering it down
