New Years Resolutions

thinkthrice's picture

Anyone?  I'm continuing with the "Year of Me" theme for 2019.  Just joined a gym that is fairly close to my work;  Since my boss has made it clear that I am not getting paid extra to take over the retiree's job and that I'm expected to retain all of my old duties, I will be taking whatever time off necessary to get to the gym.

Chef, on the other hand, is content to grow old and fat!   He's been very bitchy lately as he came down with a cold/flu.  Normally he is more tolerable when sick (much quieter, less ADHD) but because he has his own business he's become a bitch on wheels!

Ugh!

Good for you thinkthrice, keep up the "Year of Me" attitude, sometimes we need to get a little selfish and take care of us first.

I'm going to focus on stress control and getting my self-esteen back up. Less time at the gym hasn't been good for me... I haven't gained weight, but I DO feel more down on myself... More insecure, more weak, more flabby vs. toned... And it's been frustrating for me...

So I started a bit early and have started hitting the gym HARD again. It's been nice. I hurt everywhere. I LOVE that feeling.

I also think I'm going to work on my patience... I KNOW I can have a temper, and I really want to do my best to avoid that. Plus I always snap at those I'm closest to which is something I need to work on. I do it because they're who I'm comfortable with, but it ends up with a lot of built up frustrations being taken out on them.

My DH has lost quite a bit of weight on his new medications... He actually wants to gain more. He feels "tiny." (tbh he looks great... LOL)

Mine:

1. Lose the baby weight from DD(almost 2) before May.

2. Try to NOT dislike SD, as well as DH's parenting of SD, and to ignore all of those things that go with it to the best of my ability (Epic fail so far).

3. Spend more quality time with my older two kids rather than just when we are driving, etc. because life is too busy.

I saw a meme that I really liked. It said:

I'm opening a gym called "Resolutions". It will have exercise equipment for the first two weeks then it turns into a bar for the rest of the year.

Every year I take a break from the gym on New Years day till Feb 15th! Its too full! I can't get access to machines or the track becasue its full of people, but most are gone by Feb 15th and all the "resolution" people are gone completely by March 1st. its a good break for the 6 weeks Now if it turned into a bar, that would be even better! If you could have your beer or mixed drink on the tread mill my DH would come to the gym with me every night!!!

2019 will be the Year of Me, too.

I've had a plethora of health issues this year with a sh!tload of stress. I need to put my health first.

You all know what I'm talking about - I have been face down in the holiday FOOD. A total heifer.

Out with stress-eating, in with healthy yummy food!

I want to be a better listener. When someone is talking allow them to finish without interruption and respond if I need to. Being a good listener is a skill that I want to improve on greatly for 2019.

Last year was a year for me, I lost 14 lbs and really focused on my shape and body and although it took a whole year, I really changed my eating and work out routine to be all about me, I like the idea of continuing it!
I have an appt at the spa for a facial in January and an appointment for consultation for fillers coming up the day after! I'm excitied! I'll have to keep going every month to treat myself!
