I'll miss FDW, but not the skids so much. I just got back from a business trip so that was a nice break as well.

One more week unti my lunch meeting with a guy who will hopefully give me the career opportunity of the decade. If I get this, I won't be able to work from home anymore but maybe that will be a blessing in disguise. That would mean then that we would have to hire a babysitter during the summers and I won't have to put up with SS11's unmitigated BS lying. The kid seems to be getting worse.

I came home from my business trip and FDW was beside herself abuot "all the chores around the house that she had to do cuz the kids wouldn't do them." I've told her time and time again that they don't do them because a) she doesn't effectively punish and b) gives up and does them anyway! One of these days she's going to have to come to the realization that I am right on that one. On top of her complaining about this, she continued to talk about how "she has all this stuff she has to do". I looked right at her and snapped out "Why are you acting like you're the only person in the house that does anything? Don't talk to me like I don't help!" She thought I was being pithy and I pushed back and I think she got the hint. I think I can chalk her "bitching" to having to deal with 3 kids that don't listen.

Tell y'all what - if I was home, there wouldn't be any of that BS. I'd be cracking the whip because, as FSS11 said once to his mom "you're more lenient than he is..."

Ah well, basically 3 days without them. That's about 6 days total out of 6 and a half. The silence will be....ummmmm what's more valuable than gold? Smile

part of it is she doesn't stand her ground with them and enforce the rules as soon as she does, it'll get better

Yet another fundamental truth I keep telling her.

It's funny. She'll ask me for advice on a particular topic, and then not take it. She'll get advice on that same topic, presumably from an "expert" and... LO! It's the same damn thing thelaststraw said.

I've mastered the whole "Spock one-eyebrow raised" look and use it often in this case.

Wow would that open a can of worms!

She loves to speak in generalities like that...but when I do it, I'm "crabby". It's a wonderful life. She's got somewhat of a flexible mind-set, so when I ask her down the road "why do you speak in generalities?" She'll get the hint and change.

I'm not out to change anyone's personality, just trying to make them more amenable to being amongst all of us adults.
