Same s***, different day with BM...

tankh21's picture

So BM moved to a different place for awhile. She texted DH and told him that he needed to drop the skids off at this address when they come back from summer visitation because she is going to be living there for awhile. It is even further for DH to drive there then it was to BM's before. So he asked her if they can meet somewhere halfway since it's further for him to drive. Of course she said no and that he needs to drop them off. Same s***, different day!

Not that she follows it... but what does the CO say about pickups and drop offs?

If she has moved to a dramatic distance away... I don't know if it would be worth the effort to stipulate in the CO (make a change to it) that if one parent moves X miles or more away then they must drive part way.

Otherwise, if we are talking 15 or 20 minutes more each way.. I might just decide to not worry about it.  It is what it is and it isn't going to kill him to make the drive... he has the time since he is not working. though granted that does add a little expense through gas.

How is his job search going?  Has he looked at your local employment office?  There are tons of jobs posted on our state's site.  With unemployment so low in this country, I would think that there would be something he could pick up...even if it's not his dream job.    At least he would be bringing in more than unemployment.  Has he ever considered driving a truck?  I think CDL drivers make a decent living.

I feel your pain. SO has been doing every pickup and drop off to BM’s door since they divorced. Then she moved even further away so finally after 5 years she’s meeting almost half way this summer while we have the brat every other week.
