Not my kid...Not my problem! LOL

tankh21's picture

DH got a phone call yesterday that OSS got in trouble for cussing at a teacher. I will just sit back and let the drama unfold because BM and DH both let OSS do whatever he wants and he has no consequences. I didn't say anything when DH told me that yesterday. Not my kid, not my problem! I just said oh well I hope everything works out and then walked off! LOL

It's not worth saying anything anyway; I'm sure it was the teacher's fault anyway...

Isn't it always the teachers fault?  BM constantly blames the school for all of SD16's problems.  The teachers are too hard, the principal picks at her, or the bus driver left her behind.  DH and I are just waiting to hear that she has dropped out, just like BM did.  DH has tried to work with the school, but they have made it clear that he has no say.

I remember the days when DH would make such infuriating excuses for SS's wrong behaviour, whatever wrong SS did someone else was to blame for it because on his own he is perfect and incapable of being in the wrong. He never once admitted that YES my son was wrong I will discipline him.

Yep! FormerSO's son never did anything to deserve such treatment! Other kids were lying because they were "jealous" of him (eye roll) and the teacher was just picking on him. FormerSO's mother would even go to the school and raise hell - she had him switched to a different room/teacher several times. The kid was typically moved at least once per school year, due to a teacher "not liking him".

I don't know how many times I have been told that I am too hard or strict or that my opinion doesn't matter because I am not a parent so why even bother to tell me in the first place. Maybe my DH was venting but he was venting to the wrong person about his spawn.

Maybe make this a drinking game?

Yah, OSS is hanging with the wrong folks - its his friends influence!

That is what DH tells me caused his separation - Toxic Trolls FRIENDS influenced her and controlled her.

Yep we had this too. YSD failed subjects consistently because the teacher didn't like her/picked on her/didn't understand her/ the school was rubbish etc. Then she failed all exams in her final year for the same reasons. Transferred to a college to repeat the year and guesss what? The teachers were made from the same stuff as the ones at school and they all picked on her as well! And yes, she failed AGAIN!

At what point do you stop making excuses and admit that she failed because she was bone idle?!
