Human Garbage at it's best...

tankh21's picture

So DH got a FedEx letter from BM stating that he needs to provide a notarized travel letter for each one kid stating that she can take them the Mexico. Later that day she asked him what day the kids come home? He told her Friday June 30th. This is actually supposed to be DH's weekend but per the CO BM is designated one weekend with the kids so she chose this coming up weekend in a certified letter she sent DH last month. Does she just not remember and ask DH everything? It's just really dumb that she can't look up things herself when she was the one that picked this weekend as her designated weekend to spend with the kids. If she forgot well she tends to forget things all the time. DH had asked her to provide the flight and hotel information in English and instead of Spanish and she told him that she cannot provide it but she said if he wanted to go to court about it then she would be happy to go. The dumb*** always has to throw that threat in there whenever DH asks her to provide something but when she needs something it's a different story. I just told DH to ignore the human garbage but, he told her that the threats with court are getting old and she said that he makes things difficult. Right b****!! Don't throw rocks in a glass house!!!

Too bad there's not a custody calendar app in which you can upload the CO and it integrates with it. The second GUBM tries to make a change, a big red icon flashes and says "Violation! Violation!"

We don't have the money to take her to court. DH would've already taken BM if that was the case.

Not sure. The way my GS's CO between DS an ex-DIL reads, no. But your reading my be different. Ex-DIL can not pass through the international flight terminal with GS to board a plane without the consent letter. Ex-DIL and DS discussed her travel plans concerning GS for this year and he told her he may not sign. Fortunately she decided this summer she'd do Hawaii, so no problem.

Probably not and she can't travel out of the country without it.

If he doesn't want them to go, then he doesn't give his consent.

Yes that is the only thing he asked for what was the itinerary be in English. I think that BM is just trying to cover her own ass because she wrote in the handwritten letter that the hotel was unable to provide anything in English which I find rather strange. I mean not everyone can read Spanish. So she can shoot herself in the foot if she wants to. He is going to give her the notarized travel letters of course but she is telling him that she cannot provide the travel itinerary in English.

The address will be the same in Spanish or English, I don't see how she can hide the address or areas where they are going by 'not translating' the addresses. This is a power play on both their parts.

They are driving through Mexico supposedly which DH was not comfortable with in the first place but, the judge ordered DH to sign the kid's passports so he had no choice there and did it of course but the flight and hotel information is all in Spanish and someone hand wrote the times of the flights as well. They are supposedly staying at a resort which I thought was ok but, DH is worried that she will take off with the kids. I told him to call the hotel and ask them if BM made reservations there but who knows if they will even give him that information.

Have neither of them ever used google translate? It isn't perfect but not bad for a free translation that can be done in seconds. This argument is not really about the translation it is about power and controlling each other.

Yes you are probably right it is a pissing contest. But when comes to something BM needs it is a different story DH always provides it if it's in the CO.

I'm also wondering why he needs her translate if for him. She's an ass for giving it to him in Spanish. But he's an ass as well for not taking a few seconds to have it translated on his own

Call her bluff, "okay let's go." See how fast she starts back tracking. Been there, done that.

So your saying BM is driving across Mexico with the children, what in a car? Horse? Train?

I would have zero problem with my x taking the kids to a resort in Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. We travel a lot so this would not be anything new. That paper would be signed providing I had Flight info, legible hotel info.

BUT, if my x said he was driving across Mexico---I would say not with the kids you might as well drive with a bulls eye on your hood.

Just a heads up, she might go without the signed paperwork. And she might get across the border easily.

I've traveled a ton with my kids. I've always had the proper paperwork but I've never been asked to produce it.
Once when going to Orlando (kids were 6 & 9) the immigration agent asked the kids where their Dad was and they said at work. He asked why Dad wasn't going and they said because he has to work.
I just stood there and didn't volunteer anything.

That is the only time anyone has said anything about me travelling alone with my kids, never mind asked me for paperwork.

So BM just needs that notarized travel letter just in case they ask then....

Yes, in my experience you only produce the letter when asked. You don't hand it to them with the passports or anything like that.
