SD5 thinks she's grown

stuckinthebay's picture

So we got SD5 and we've had her for 37 days. Man, she is something else. She acts like she's freaking grown. Rolling her eyes, moaning and groaning, showing her tongue, acting like she doesn't care, talking back. The list goes on. I hate that we have to correct her every time she comes back to us. It's fucking bullshit. It's clear this shit is allowed in her moms household cuz if if wasn't, she wouldn't be that way. She'll walk away when you're talking to her, she acts like she doesn't like anything, and she always wants something at the store because she said when she goes to the store with her mom she always gets a toy. Which I believe cuz when we oovoo she shows us all of her 27 horses, 30 stuffed animals, and how ever many dinosaurs. Ugggh!! And I can't do anything about it when she's sassy to me. I tell my husband and he takes care of it. And it's works...temporarily.

But let me go back to before we picked SD5 up. We were talking to her on oovoo and she brought out a leap frog toy that has the alphabets. SD5 said "oh, I haven't seen this before" and starts pressing buttons. It's clear that her mom programmed the letters cuz when SD5 pressed the letter of her first name, it said her name. She kept pressing buttons and then she pushed the letter D. And it ducking says "D is for your only daddy BMH's name". THEN!!! We spoke to her three days later, no leap frog toy. I was ready to record that shit. The next time she finally brought the toy out and said "my mommy took this and hid it but I found it". I said "ok show me you know your letters. Press A" and she does and we keep going til I get to D. And guess what it says?!?! D IS FOR DOG! Yes! She freaking changed it.

My husband heard it himself when he was talking to her. He had his head piece on and we were sitting in a restaurant. When he hung up he told me what he heard. I said " I would've unplugged the headset and recorded that with my phone" he said he didn't want to do that cuz we were in a public place. I said that we could've went outside. He was upset but kinda brushed it off. Idk. I wouldn't have cared.

Is this the kid who lives overseas with mom for few months, then back to the states with dad for a few months?

Yes, this will be our last 6month visit because SD5 will start school in the fall. She's actually suppose to stay for 7months but BM has no memory of tha agreement. I'm very upset that my DH didn't get it on paper.

Just keep up with the discipline. You have her for an extended period of time so you can de-train her.

Six months in one country and six months in another?? Completely different home, parents, rules, expectations, experiences... I could go on.

I am not surprised she is acting out, any parent who agrees on a schedule like this needs his or her head examined. No way in hell is that good for a child, especially one that young.

I am a great believer in 50/50 custody (and we fought hard through the courts to get it) but always and only if it's best for the child. In this case, I'm sorry but it sounds like the adults thought only of themselves.

Adults as in BM?? Cuz H fought but in this state, they are pro mom. They didn't even see a judge. Judge to their attorneys to figure it out or he will give BM everything.

Wow. I can't believe she would actually try to brainwash her child to thinking she had a different father. Some BMs are just frickin mind blowing. At least she changed it, but what other alienation shit is she pulling? I'm so sorry!

Brainwashing a child in to a "new father" is not as unusual as you'd think. Chucky insist his SF is his actual father. My H has never not been in his son's life. No matter the baby photo's, birth certificates etc that the child is shown, he insists SF is daddy. Our BM worked hard on this topic, even convincing therapists that trying to make the child stop "traumatised" him.
