DF's "friend" apparently wants to ride the BM train.....yuck!

My fiance has a friend, I'll call him Jake. They have known each other for years although they don't hang out very much anymore (about 3 times a year they go to the casino together, about once every other month or so we meet up with Jake for dinner/lunch). Jake was one of the people DF was considering to be a groomsman in our wedding, then decided not to. Although I like him, he has this nervous energy when I'm around. I asked DF if he's always like that, and DF told me "kind of"...then he said he just gets nervous around girls sometimes unless he's drinking. Okay...so whatever.

Jake is one of those people who is on his iPhone ALL DAY -- specifically, on Facebook all day. He constantly comments on people's pictures and stuff, although rarely on anything of ours. He's a single guy so he mostly comments on pretty girls' statuses and photos.

Yesterday I pull up Facebook and the first thing that shows up on the home page is a picture of BM. I realized I was logged into DF's. DF is NOT friends with BM on Facebook, she's just got absolutely no privacy settings so if a mutual friend of theirs posts something on her page it shows up. Then I saw Jake's comment on her photo, which said, "You are soooooo ridiculously pretty, BM Wink " Then I click onto her page, and he's "liked" EVERY comment of hers and EVERY photo of hers for the last two months or so...plus commented a bunch on stuff. I know it's stupid...but it really bothers me that he's supposedly friends with my fiance but he is all over BM's facebook page...even going so far as to compliment her often. I feel like if he knew that DF could see those things he probably wouldn't do it, but that makes it even more shady.

So Jake is a whore and wants a ride on the BM train. Whatever...he can obviously do whatever he wants. It just feels like he's backstabbing us, especially because he knows all the crap that went down with DF and BM, has spoken to DF about how crappy of a mother she is and that she's ALWAYS at the bar all skanked-up, and he has NEVER been "friends" with BM before the last few months (BM couldn't even stand him).

I think next time we see him I'm going to casually bring it up and be like, "Oh, so I hear you're applying to be next in line to be BM's f-buddy?" and see what he says Smile Any other good lines we could use? }:)

Yes, his comments on her page have not been unnoticed by me in the past few months! It certainly bugs me and I know that this time I HAVE to say something to him -- even if it's just a sly little comment so he realizes we can see them. I don't want it to sound like a huge deal, after all he and DF aren't really "best" friends or anything like that. It just sort of sucks that he would be like that...and it would be nice for him to realize that he's being a crappy friend for it.

What does your DF think about it? The thought of one of DH's buddies hooking up with BM absolutely creeps me out! It seems "Jake's" loyalty should be to your DF if they truly are friends. Certainly, BM is not the only available woman & in my opinion, Jake needs to look elsewhere, or be up front with your DF & cut the ties. Yes, he should choose one or the other.

My SIL has a thing about hooking up with DH's friends. She is currently living with the 5th friend of DH's. The guy she is with grew up with her & DH & was DH's best friend up until DH & BM split. The guy happened to be dating BM's best friend at the time of the split & chose pu55y over his friendship with DH when DH needed him most.

What I don't get about these situations is...WHY THESE PARTICULAR PEOPLE? Of all of the divorced/single people out there, WHY the need to hook up with someone who has caused someone you care for so much pain?

Jake sounds like a completely desparate & class-less loser. Just from what you've shared, it sounds like your DF is probably better to go ahead & chose on Jake's behalf. Let him persue BM & rid yourselves of him.

I told DF last night, "It really bugs me that Jake would do act like that towards her...does it bother you?" Dear Fiance said, "Whatever. It's just Jake being Jake...he's a whore, she's a whore, I wouldn't doubt that she's using him as an ego boost since she knows he's one of my friends. She's probably stringing him along and flirting with him when they run into each other at the bar so he thinks he might get some. Whatever." So obviously DF doesn't seem to be too bothered by it...and that makes me think maybe I'm just being jealous (the whole but-I'm-pretty-too! thing?). And I am putting Jake up to the same standards I would some very close friends, where a lot of guys don't do that. If I had a friend of mine being like that with an ex of mine she certainly wouldn't be my friend anymore. Guys are just so much more nonchalant about stuff like that.

Completely agree with you...this definitely does not win Jake any points in my book and makes him look desperate. At least he's a "friend" who's been sort of on the outs anyway -- not a real close one anymore -- so I'm guessing the relationship between he and DF will just fizzle out or remain as it is, which is fine.

SOOO many guys out there are like that -- this sort of thing doesn't make them bat an eye! Smile wow!

Uggghh - my H told me that one of his uncles asked him if it was ok if he hooked up with BM. I guess his mail order bride must not be doing it for him if he's willing to hook up with THAT skank!

How disgustingly sick.

Just so you know, today, I am STILL grossed out at the thought of one of DH's friends riding the "BM Train". LMAO!

I was telling DH about this post last night & he told about one of his good friends (who sided with BM in the divorce) hooked up with BM's aunt while she was living with BM & DH in their basement. Then he told me about BM's bio-dad hooking up with BM's best friend while he was hiding out in their basement with a warrant for his arrest. OMG...if you could SEE these people!

I just can't believe people take no issue with keeping everything in the circle. With so many people out there...why not try something everyone else you know hasn't already had???

OMG...what kind of people are they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And exactly...I just will never understand either why some people can't just find someone ELSE to put their thingy's in.
