stepmomto2many's picture

I can't stand the taste of vodka even when I use orange juice I still taste it. Saturday is DH's birthday and he got some bottles of vodka. Any good recipes?

I usually use Cloudy lemonade, hides the taste a treat. To the extent where I accidently guzzled half a litre of vodka in 2 to 3 sittings as I couldn't taste the damn stuff - still makes me feel ill now thinking about it, lol.
It has to be CLOUDY lemonade though.

Okay...This is begging for more details.

What did he say?

"Honey! This is not what it looks like!"

I have to be honest. Right now all I can hear is the ripping velcro sound when he stood up.

Naked on leather.....dangerous.

I am laughing too hard right now to curl up under my desk.

That was hilarious. Thank you for the laugh Echo!

I got you covered.

My specialty is Whiskey ribs. SS was actually a tad dissapointed that I didn't make them this Easter.

My neighbor WAS a veggan before I moved in. One BBQ at my place and he saw the light.

Loves me my BBQ.

I respect all vegetarians and vegans.

I get the old WTH look on my face once they're converted to being omnivores again. }:)

Electric jello:

Follow instructions on the package as normal with the exception of the following:

Instead of pouring cold water into the hot water/jello mixture, allow a few minutes for the hot water mixture to cool and pour in half cold water/ half vodka (or any other hard liquor like Peach Schnapps, Ameretto, gin, etc. DO NOT pour while hot water/jello mixture is still steaming because the alcohl will evaporate.

Once done, pour into shot glasses and place in fridge to allow jello to set.

WARNING: Vodka has a difficult time setting so you may need prepare this a whole day before intending to serve.

Orange, lime and cherry jello seems to go good with vodka and the vodka taste is easly masked.

White Russian:

Vodka
Kahlua
heavy cream

Shake.

If you like sweet drinks, you can mix an ounce or so each of Bailey's, Kahlua and Godiva chocolate liqueur into it. Or just keep adjusting until you get it right. By that time most of the vodka should be gone anyway, lol!!

Bloody Marys. Or if you want something sweet: hop, skip and go naked, full bottle of vodka, one can of frozen lemonade and half a bottle of oj or pineapple juice. Stir in a pitcher and enjoy.

key lime pie martinis:

whipped cream flavored vodka
key lime flavored rum
lime juice
pineapple juice

pineapple upside down cake cocktail:

Couldn't even begin to tell you how much of each ingredient to put in the shaker. DH always makes them for me. Google them for recipes!
