Dumb Stuff my SS14 says When There Are Sweets

step off already's picture

I tell the kids they can each have ONE of my truffles that I received from a client. SS looks at me and says, "can I have two"?

We have a big cinnamon role that my mom brought for breakfast for the next day during a family trip. SS asks if we can eat it tonight. My mom says we're waiting till two days in the morning when all kids were here. Next morning (no one else had shown up), he asks again if we can eat it. Answer is the same. He asks again that day after lunch.

There is leftover pie. I tell the kids they can have a slice of pumpkin after they eat their breakfast. SS asks, "can i just eat pie, not breakfast?"

Fourteen and a half.

I think he has an auditory processing issue.

Or he's dumb.

Or selective hearing.

Ooh. I like that. I usually say no. But I like this for cinnamon roll situations.

My SS7 does this all the time. My solution, I literally stare at him, saying nothing, until he goes "oh" with a little smirk, "never mind." He does it to be funny and try to have control. My answer isn't going to change so why should I say it again.

THis is what he did at age 11 when he first started coming over. He'd go through MY cupboards and help himself to whatever he wanted.

I put an end to that quickly and surprise! The kid is no longer overweight.
