Kind of amusing....

This past weekend we had SD.  She is back in cheer again which we all know is a giant time suck.  Anyways, she was supposed to have a game on Saturday but BM called SO and notified him that since there was a "torrential downpour" (aka known as a slight consistent rain for those that aren't overly dramatic) SD would not be going to the game to cheer.  Apparently she has try outs for competitive cheer this week all week from 6-8:30 and CANNOT miss a day of that.  So BM called the coaches and talked them into letting her miss because of the rain and not be benched at the next game.  According to BM she had a "severe asthma attack" the week before so she didn't want her getting more sick cheering in the rain (you know like every other kid on the team HAD to do).  I know I probably sound like a witch for not believing that SD had a "severe asthma attack" but BM overly exaggerates everything and since SD developed this sports induced asthma (when she started cheer years ago) I have NEVER seen her have any allergy issues at my house and since we have animals and dust and woods behind us I would think it would be even worse in our home but whatever I guess it is possible.

When SO told SD that she didn't have to go to cheer b/c of all the stuff I stated above she was super excited.  I really have a hard time believing she is so into cheer when she is always more excited to skip it than she is to actually go do it.  SD then proceeded to bring up her version of why she didn't make competitive cheer last year.  I actually remember very well how it went down but SD's version was pretty comical.  SD stated that she didn't make it last year b/c she missed one of the mandatory nights when she was sick (probably true but don't recall that) but also that her moves weren't perfect even though her tumbling was.  SD believes that just because she does tumbling she should automatically be on the team.  She then stated that after she didn't make the team she just went to normal cheer practice and showed them what they were missing.....this is the part I found amusing because I specifically remember her going to the practice after finding out she didn't make it and having a major crying meltdown because she had to "face" the judge that told her no!  I remember BM having SO call and console her because she was so upset that she couldn't even practice....yeah she really showed them what they were missing, lol!  Being the stepmonster that I am I couldn't help but refresh her memory on what really happened.  I'm interested to see if she makes competitive cheer this year and if not what she will use as her excuses this time.

Years ago there was a story on here about a "dance genius" aka stepdaughter nightmare, all the girls hated her, jealous of her abilities, but played similar games. Maybe it was a flag corp group,  What a nightmare! but made for good reading.  Stepmom got divorced and lived happily ever after I believe.

LOL, I'll have to look that up, sounds soooooooooooooooooooo familiar.  It is a major nightmare!  I'm pretty sure I would live happily ever after if SD went away! *ROFL*

Well obviously she only isn't going to make it because they were paid off Simpleton. There's no other reasoning behind why such a perfect angel wouldn't make whatever she chose!!!

Bad

Honestly, IMO, I think part of the reason she didn't make it is because of meddling BM.  BM is a "cheer mom" yet at the games she doesn't sit with the other moms.  I think they other moms are as annoyed with BM and spoiled SD as I am! LOL

Plus SD is ALWAYS hurt.  I actually started a word document at work to track her "injuries" and she has had at least 1 incident a month since I started the document!  It is all overly dramatized and again IMO for attention.

and to a lesser extent SD.  The Girhippo made sure that SD was in BOY'S football and somehow managed for her to be CAPTAIN of the 7th grade team.  They were 0 and a million.  lost.every.single.game.    She dropped out after the 7th grade season after the Gir had made a point to put her in boy's football from the 4th grade on.

OSS would do soccer flops and trip over his own feet thus sparking many a trip to the ER.

I seriously don't get how these BMs pull this crap off!  Really?!?! She was CAPTAIN?!?! That is ridiculous!

I went to 1 tumbling practice of SDs and it was nauseating.  She isn't that great at that but she has been doing it forever.  You could tell that she was "showing off" through the whole practice and it was so annoying!

Also do all BMs have the best insurance ever or something?  My kids know that they aren't going to the dr/er/etc unless they are REALLY hurt/sick.  BM takes SD for EVERYTHING!!!!  She sneezed better make an apt.

thinkthrice's picture

she would run to the ER for a sneeze.   And we wonder why med costs are so high??!!   She was Munchausening it up pretty badly.  Skids "needed" to have orthodonture the second they turned eight, OSS "may" have meningitis after tripping over his own feet in gym,  SD had a contest with OSS to see who could jam a pencil in their ear the farthest, the list goes on and on.  They did have ringworm and lice at one point mostly due to the Gir's filthy house and unkempt parade of pets.

Hell the GIR even tried to stay on Chef's insurance AFTER the divorce!! I caught that one on the portal pretty damn quick.  Then when she switched over to her cadillac insurance (when she was working for CPS) the medical emergencies slowly subsided.  I think they are now on StepDaddyBigBuck's insuranc including OSS stb 22 although I'm sure they are still reporting him as living in their household so he can stay on SDBB's insurance until age 26.   All of a sudden it just wasn't that important for YSS stb 16 to have orthodontics although his teeth are the worst of all three.  They put him in braces at age 15--managed to wait until then. . .HMMMMM!

and yes  CAPTAIN!!  I couldn't make this shit up if I TRIED!!!   It was more or less a "look at me" moment. . . one of kabillions.

Yep, people like this!  It is amazing how all these HCBMs have so much in common like this crap!  The only good thing in our case is that BM works at a school and she carries insurance for SD and her school covers the deductible (I believe).  When she went back for CS (the moment she found out I was pregnant) she had added in that SO pays 16% of out of pocket charges.  Again, not bad, especially in comparison to some here.  However when she takes SD for EVERYTHING and SD exaggerates EVERYTHING for attention/special treatment it will add up!  I explained to SD that we couldn't afford that.  That is why my kids go to the dr maybe a handful of times a year and it is an actual SICKNESS/EMERGENCY!

Amazing how when it started costing your BM it wasn't such an emergency anymore!  I am sure if the BM we dealt with had to pay more she wouldn't be taking her ALL THE TIME!  She takes her so often she is worried about the dr reporting her to CPS.  You would think that would deter her from taking her all the time but nope....just causes her to lash out at us!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ love it and please update us on the excuses she'll have this go around ROFL

Simpleton21's picture

Oh, I will be sure to post an update.  I'm sure if she doesn't make it there will be an elaborate excuse and it will be because of "1 mean judge/coach" that didn't like her.  At least it was last year.  According to BM and SD 2 of the 3 judges wanted her on the team but not the 3rd.  That 3rd judge must have been so powerful to overule the majority vote, lol!

The small victory I had in this conversation is that guilty/wanna be disney daddy actually agreed with me when I refreshed her memory because he remembered it as well.  Usually he makes excuses for this type of stuff....ex: recently SD was going to be vegan, but she was still eating meat and cheese and basically everything.  I told her that wasn't vegan so she said, "well I'm vegetarian" and again I explained that she wasn't a vegetarian if she was still eating meat and SO butts in and says, "I think she is just eating healthier"....Mmmmmkay....if you call adding peanut butter and sugar to everything healthier I guess she's on the right path!

Simpleton21's picture

LOL, I would if she was still on the "healthy eating" charade.  She hasn't mentioned that lately.  She is more like a CARBOVARIAN.  She loves eating all the fries, hashbrowns, mashed potatoes/etc. when she is at the house.  It actually disgusts me.  I got a new air fryer and she was so excited.  The first day she was there she had 5 hashbrowns (like the McDonalds ones) and 2 completely filled plates of fries.  I thought SO would tell her she had enough but nope.  I figure eff it.  He can deal with the consequences of letting her overindulge!

Last week saying that all sports and after school activities were cancelled at the high school due to humidity.  Hmm I remember after school activities still continuing in 95F+ degree weather with stifling humidity.  Hell Chef remembers BAILING HAY in those conditions and I remember several outside jobs in those conditions.  The snowflake generation marches on.

"RA RA REE

KICK 'EM in the KNEE

RA RA RASS

KICK 'EM in the OTHER KNEE!!"     OW! My HANGNAIL!!!

Simpleton21's picture

Thinkthrice, same thing happened near where I live.  I saw school closings etc b/c of heat humidity and some of SD's practices were canceled also.  I think it is ridiculous.  I remember sitting on ice packs as a kid in the summer b/c I had no a/c.  Kids these days have no idea!  I also worked on a hog farm in the summer when I was 14.  It was hotter than hell and smelled terrible but I still went and worked my arse off!  This generation is so coddled it is sad!

This brings to mind a particularly funny thing that happened a few years ago, on a particularly hot summer day. It was the weekend. Feral Eldest had been to many doctors, for her polyps, and her irregular heartbeat and her anxieties, and her assmah. She would regularly couch camp, and have all her medications as well as aspirin, and tissues and glass of juice, in the living room. I put a stop to that> we eat in the dining room, at the table, not the rocking chair or couch.

So, DH then SO, he was so fed up with Feral Eldest and her medications, and doctor visits, he had her mow the dead and dry front lawn during the hottest part of the day. Did she have an attack of any kind? Heart issue? Anxiety? NOPE.

It was all fabricated because of ToxicTroll, who now is staying home from work due to her brain injury from 3 years ago. Dont you just LOVE LOVE LOVE these Victims and Victims-in-the-making? Your SD will hopefully grow out of this chit, and become a functioning adult. But who knows...she might have to go on disability because of these allergies she keeps having. What is allergy to rain? Pluvallergy?

Simpleton21's picture

It is so nice to hear other stories like this b/c I know you can relate.  I truly feel wicked sometimes when I don't believe any of her "injuries" but she has been faking them for attention since I met her and BM plays into it instead of discouraging it.  My kids don't do this because they don't get rewarded for being injured.

SD was "allergic" to milk.  Yet she could eat ice cream.  This charade went on until we were at SO's SM's house and she had ice cream for dessert and I said, "I still don't understand how you are allergic to milk but not icecream since it is the main ingredient in icecream" and SM being a smart woman said, "well if you are allergic to milk you can't have icecream!".  All of the sudden she is no longer allergic to milk!

I love that your DH had her mow the lawn in the heat to prove it! LOL!  I wish my SO would grow a pair.  He is at least getting better.  He (we because he wanted my help, lol) had a discussion with SD recently after 3 weeks of badgering from BM about a "severe injury" that SD got when she fell doing a fiip on the trampoline and had to have 4 weeks of PT for it.  SD didn't even act injured at our place.  Maybe like 5 minutes and then she was back on the trampoline.  She was fine the next day also and then 2 days later while SD is back at BMs SO starts getting hate texts about how unsafe our trampoline is and yada yada yada.  I watched SD for the following weeks do everything just fine and pick up my 42 lb. 4 year old and got on her for it everytime.  You're to hurt to pick him up.  You're to hurt to do this or that.  I made it no fun which she isn't used to.  She was all upset when she was released from PT and mommy said she could get on the trampoline again and I told her she couldn't.  I told her that she is a liability to my dad (he owns our house) and if she gets hurt again I don't want him having to pay b/c dr visits and PT are expensive and injuries aren't fun and games.  She looked as if she was about to cry.  I guess she isn't used to hearing truths or being called out.  Oh well!
