Well, SD had her baby yesterday....Derby day here. Dh only knew because he called the local hospitals because I had that feeling.... Sure enough she delivered at 5 a.m. So, with my encouragement, he went to the hospital. I did not want him to go by himself, but since all of our friends/family were already at the Derby, (sad day by the way) I was of course the only one available to go. I REFUSED to go into the hospital, but instead opted to go to the top of the parking garage to enjoy the beautiful, yet very windy, views of the city with my boys. They loved it, it was "cool" to them. Anyway, he calls several times to say he can't make himself go in. I encouraged him to go in and when he finally did (an hour later), the ex was there w/the other SD, no baby daddy anywhere in sight. Anyway, he asked her if it was OK for him to be there and she said yes. He did ask the ex and other SD to leave him alone with her, and surprisingly, they all agreed. He had a nice bonding moment with his grandchild and daughter. I can't believe after all the time of alienation, she finally allowed him in. Though, he & I both agree that it will probably be short lived. I did encourage him to visit again this morning, so he decided to go. Our son is 10 and he thinks it is the coolest thing ever to be an uncle. He is completely taken with the baby. I guess I skipped that part............ When the ex left and Dh had his moment with SD, he asked her if it would be OK for me & the boys to come in, and she agreed. I thought I might pass out. I didn't say much to her, didn't hug her, just asked simple questions and kept it very simple. The boys were so cute. Anyhow, I felt extremely out of place and wanted to fade into the wall, especially when the ex came back in. That irritated me, she only gave us about 20 mins, then came barging back in like we should leave, sat her big ass down in a chair and stared at me. I did revel in the fact that she has gained oh about 100 pds in the last year. I used to be the fat one, hahaha. How karma does work eh? The best part about the whole thing was that GOD decided to pay back SD with a girl...... she will get everything she has coming to her 10 fold!
