OT - I want to smack some people that work with me

Our company allows us to decorate our cubes. We have a temp working for us that for some reason is decorating the cube she is in, but is leaving next Friday. She is being replaced by someone who's been out on medical leave.

As annoying as that is, while she's painting I just heard her remark "Huh.....I guess yellow and green don't make blue. You only get light green."

Which started a debate, where everyone was stumped by the fact she could not make blue from yellow and green paint. I finally piped up "BLUE is a primary color. As are yellow and red. Green is a secondary color. You have to buy blue paint."

Which started a whole other debate, disagreeing with what I just said.

Hasn't she ever seen the Ziplock commercial? Yellow and Blue make GREEN... AND... that is freaking common sense isn't it? Where would you get BLUE out of YELLOW and GREEN??? What an idiot.

I was just thinking didn't she learn anything in kindergarten?? That's when we all learned our colors, right?

I cannot wait until next Friday when her contract expires. She has been a trial here and hasn't been a good fit.

We have a policy where that position can do write offs to a certain dollar amount, but require authorization for anything over.

I audit their accounts to make sure they're following policy. I found one yesterday where she applied a credit to an invoice, and wrote off the difference. Which was outside of her authority level. Her response when I questioned it? Well I just figured it'd be okay.

OMG, just 6 more working days with her.

Idiot. I guess it's a good thing she was just a temp, huh? Mean me whishes you would have told her that, lol.

I'm still trying to figure out how she rationalized it being okay to decorate a cube that is assigned to a permanent employee.

Really, she is painting her cube...is this on company time? AND when she's on her way out and it is actually someone else's cube.?? Wow. And that is why the temp to term business does well, they figure before the 3 months is up you can actually tell whether your dealing with a nut or not! Wink Anyway, that's why my company does it. We've had our share of the nuts! One refused to dress appropriately, but reallllyyy needed the job...one wanted to restructure the dept and only wanted to work for the SR VP, ...and another one asked if she could change her working hours after a week in.

I can't even wrap my head around the fact she's not actually working (says the chick on ST bitching about someone not working :P). I supervise their work, but not the people. Otherwise I would have told her two hours ago she can write out the manuals for our ERP system or she can go home if she has finished her work today.

it is so frustrating when people who are so obviously wrong want to defend their stupidity. and if you somehow prove to them that they are wrong, they still defend it. that's a true moron right there.
