SD14s stepdad has covid

Which means everyone in the house has covid. BM told DH trying to get sympathy. BM and the lot are all anti-vax. Sorry but I have no sympathy for antivaxers that get covid and then whine about it. DH has little sympathy but he's worried about SD and it's distracting him. Of course SD is not talking to him and all the updates about her sore throat and sniffles are coming from BM.

Get the shot. Its not that difficult, it's just a damn vaccine. BM tried to make it seem like they're anti-vax because SD didn't want to get the vaccine. Oh and what if she wanted ice cream for breakfast? Would you let her do that too? Be a parent and stop acting like the anti-vax attitude didn't come from YOU BM. She gets all her other vaccines but not this one because of politics.

If you don't want to get it whatever, it's your choice, but then you have to own the consequences not play the victim.

BM said this was why they didn't talk to him around Christmas. Ok so stepdad has covid on new years but BM tried to use this as a reason why neither she or SD would answer the phone for the last couple months to plan holiday visitation. Way to rewrite history BM. She's trying to make it seem like she did DH a favor by not allowing visitation because she was able to predict the future.

The worst thing about this is DH is saying they're playing the victim about something they've done to themselves, but in the next breath it's clear he's super worried about all of them and distracted from enjoying his time off with me and our kids.

I have no sympathy anymore either.  Get the damn vaccine, it works, and the billions of us who have gotten it are fine.  My oldest sister and brother refuse the vax, and I'm over it.

My staff were all forced to get vaccinated by a health care mandate. I had one staff who didn't want it, but he got it to keep his job. Well, his unvaxxed 17 yo son just got COVID pneumonia and was in and out of the ED. My staff member did not get covid at all from his son (or he's asymptomatic).  It works, people. Most of the hospitalized around here are unvaccinated.

Odds are that they will be fine, especially SD14.  But I too would have zero patience for the whining.

DH and I are both fully vaccinated. DH recently got his booster and I am waiting until baby's arrival in February to get my booster because my doctor recommended I hold off. My whole family is also vaccinated and boostered. DH and I both work remote and we don't do much outside the home. If we do, we wear masks and follow social distancing. DH and I have never contracted COVID-19, but my family did prior to the vaccines coming out, even with proper mask usage and social distancing.

BM, GF, and SS are all anti-vaxxers due to their political beliefs. They think that because they have yet to contract COVID, it can't be that real. They have spent the entire pandemic living life as normal; traveling, contact sports, in-person schooling even when remote was recommended, attending concerts and huge sporting events, etc. SS told me that BM and GF will never vaccinate and mostly refuse to wear masks... that's fine, their choice, but if and when they do contract COVID, I don't want to hear one ounce of whining, nor will I be allowing SS around us or our baby. Those are the consequences of their actions and I will have no sympathy for them, as it could have been avoided.

I'm to this point of, who cares. I honestly wish anti-vaxxers were last tier priority when hospitals have to ration care too.

My office mate was the first in my organziation to test positive.  I tested positive 4 days later, now out of my team of 70 there are 11 who are positive.  Those who are fully vaccinated have moderate symptoms. Those who are not vaccinated are extremely sick. One is in the hospital and one will likely be admitted soon.  The other two nonvaccinated positive cases on my team are orders of magnitude more ill than the the rest of us positive cases.

I am a group 1B risk case.  I have had all three Pfizer vaccines (1, 2, & the booster).  I also had the Monoclonal Antibody infusion on Friday night.  I have improved exponentially since the infusion to the point that I have only slight sniffles and watery eyes.  The aches, cough, sneezing, etc.. are all gone.

Interestingly the non vaxed team mates are all trying to get the antibody infusion.  The others don't need it even if they could qualify.  I suffer from an auto immune disease so I qualified for the Monoclonal Antibody infusion.  I am glad I did it though I really didn't think Ineeded it.

Honestly don't understand the people who refuse to get a vaccine but would rather get a monoclonal antibody therapy. If you're afraid of putting something in your body an antibody treatment is a lot more intense than a RNA vaccine!

I'm quarantining in the guest bedroom and waiting for test results. I'm fully vaxxed but no booster and it's feeling like the flu. We lost my BIL a week before Christmas to a booster related blood clot, they did an autopsy and that's the official cause of death. He worked for a school district and the booster was mandated.  So now I'm on the fence, not politically inclined. Just not sure if my test results are positive would I even need the booster? Or don't bother?  There's literally nobody to ask. We were going to get boosters, now DH says hell no. It was his brother we lost.
