The bad news: BM is ill. She has a diagnosis to go with her condition/behaviors/actions, one that frankly if not managed correctly can lead into a spiral that will have her at the bottom incredibly quickly.

The good news: It is manageable. She is starting to respond to treatment, her doctors allowed her to have telephone contact with the skids yesterday. SO will be taking the kids to visit with her on Sunday so they can see her/ she can see them.

SO did talk with her on the phone. Says her speach is very slow and deliberate, definately drugged, but she is making sense. She does not remember the court hearing at all. Thought SO was just babysitting the kids for her while she was "gone." SO explained to her what she had done/what happened.

She actually apologized. And said since she acted that way and can not remember acting that way, that it is best that the skids are with SO and not with her.

Granted, she is drugged and saying this. That story may change as they ease up on the xanax/ativan/valium whatever it is they are using to keep her mellow and non combative.

For now that is all the news we have. She has a long way to go. But at least she is reengaging with the skids. Her shrug at court at me worried but per her physicians she has been "working" this past week to be well enough to call and talk to them and maybe see them. If they are her goal and she is actively participating in treatment in order to be able to see/talk to them, perhaps there is hope.
