Dinner with the Skid last night. UPDATE: I only included half of the blog.

It is tax season and my bride is working the usual CPA crunch time hours until April 15th.

Skid (SS-18) and I went to dinner last night at his preferred grazing location. All you can eat Chinese buffet.

At dinner I asked him if he considered himself a happy person. He said "middle of road".

From there the discussion progressed to his mom and I, my family, his mom's family and then the SpermClan.

My son gave me his opinion on just about everyone in his extended family.

Rags' Clan:

Rags - Happy
Wife - Happy (most of the time)
RagsPop - Happy but crazy
RagsMom - Happy but scary

Mom's Clan (my ILs):

Grandpa - Happy but intermittently depressed
Grandma - Happy if you don't bring up the facts or truth of their lives
Uncle1 - Miserable but pretends to be happy to keep his crazy ass wife off of his back
Aunt (Unk1's wife) - Crazy, manipulative and mean
Uncle2 - Happy but eternally take advantage of by the rest of the clan
Aunt1 (my SIL) - Not happy, pretty much cluless and scared to death that her poor decisions are catching up with her.

SpermClan:

SpermGrandMa - Not happy at all but doing what she has to do to prevent her grandchildren from having sucky lives.
SpermGrandPa - Mean, nasty and pretty much hides in his garage/shop
Half Sib1 (Sister) - Not happy, hates her mom, hates her dad.
Half Sib2(bro) - Happy kid, tries to love his dad but is learning that his dad (the SpermIdiot) is detestable.
Half Sib3(bro) - Happy kid, too young to recognize that the SpermIdiot is a moron.

SpermIdiot - Happy but too clueless to understand that he is detestable and that the only reason he is happy is that SpermGrandMa supports him.

The kid went on to rant that his dad had been texting him this week with odd texts.

SI: "Hello HomeDog. How are you?"
Skid: "Hi Dad. I am fine."
SI: "Gangster!"
Skid: "?".
SI: "Never mind you are clueless".
Skid: no response.

Apparently the SpermIdiot is still trying hard to be a gangster rapper and join an African-American gang. He is 41 and as white as white can be.

Skid went on to talk about how SpermGrandMa is struggling to raise her grandkids and is mad at the SpermIdiot.

I posed the perspective that the whole situation is SpermGrandMa's fault because she enables the SpermIdiot to be the SpermIdiot.

Skid got very defensive of SpermGrandMa and asked me how SpermGrandMa was enabling.

I told him:

1. SpermIdiot lives in a house the SGPs own ... rent free.
2. SGPs raise his youngest three spawn in their home and pay the CS for my SS with no contribution from SI. They should sue SI and the baby mama's for CS.
3. SGPs give SI their hand me down cars.

Skid had some interesting responses and questions.

He asked me what his mom and I would have doneif SI was living in a nasty apartment with several losers. I told him that we would not allow him to visit SI.

Skid responded to my comments about SpermGrandMa being an enabler for the SIs crap.

1. If they kicked SI out of their rental property then Skid could not visit and SI would loose custody of the three younger Spawn.

2. If they nailed SI for CS he would run away and not pay a thing and SGPs would loose the Spawn. The kids live with the SGPs because they life in a better school district.

3. SI is too irresponsible to buy his own safe ans reliable transportation and could not take the Spawn anywhere if he did not get the SGPs hand me down vehicles.

He also said that SpermGrandMa does the things she does so that SI can stay in touch with his kids.

Skid went on to rant about SI and how he sold the newest hand me down car to buy two "huge" televistions for playing WoW and other computer/video games. The two youngest spawn obviously love this move.

I asked Skid what my mother would do if I was the SpermIdiot and she were SpermGrandMa. He said, that would never happen because she raised you right and would kill you if you even thought about being like SpermIdiot. I closed the conversation with "that is why SpermGrandMa is responsible for this situation and prepetuates it. She is a control freak and will do what ever it takes to keep the Spawn and the SpermIdiot under her control rather than to actually fix the problem."

His last words concerning this conversation was "I can see how it might look that way."

I told him several times during the conversation that it was sad that he had to deal with his SpermClan's crap and that no kid should have to live that way even if only on visitation.

He is a smart kid and extremely defensive of his SpermGrandMa though she IMHO is even more detestable than her son the SpermIdiot.

On one hand I am proud that

On one hand I am proud that he can love these people in spite of their crap. On the other I am disappointed that he has drunk even a little bit of their cool-aid.

For me the issue is that she is a control freak with absolutely no desire to fix the problem. By keeping the status quo she stays in control of the extended SpermClan. She is also a drama queen who thrives on the martyr status she has obtained in her church/cult due to her son's behavior.

Her greatest rage is over the fact that she lost direct control of my wife and my SS when my wife finally booted the SpermIdiot and left the state to go to college. I find it extremely interesting, enraging and sad that she has not spoken to my son since he got on a plane to return home from his final CO'd visitation. It has been 6mos.

Now that there is no CO giving the SpermIdiot any control and by extension giving her even a modicum of control, she has no need or desire to have anything to do with my son. She has ZERO control over my wife or over my son any longer and as such she has no use for him. For her he was just another pawn in her SpermClan empire and a way of punishing my wife for leaving the SpermClan. IMHO.

If she were to be asked directly I am sure she would spout that she is caring for her GKs. I am sure there are GPs associated with the Golden Uterus club who really are doing it for the GKs and not to maintain control.

My own parents have always had my back and my younger brother's back but always made damned sure we learned from our mistakes and showed improvement by our own efforts before they would step in and help. No change from us, no help from them.

My SS and I covered this in our conversation but he still was a bit tight jawed over my opinions of SpermGrandMa. He has no problem with detesting his SpermIdiot but SGM still has some kind of SpermClan halo in his eyes.

And yep, it is very sad.
