Cell Phone

So my fiancé’s son is 12. His grandmother has him on her phone plan (BM’s mother). When he first got his phone around Sept 2012 he was calling every day. Well BM didn’t like him talking to me, and oddly enough my phone calls go to voice mail now. (I know this because I could hear her reaction when he told her when asked who he was talking to.) I’m pretty sure she blocked me, because he says he doesn’t get my texts either. For whatever reason he got his phone taken away shortly after getting it in 2012.

So then we had to call BM’s phone to talk to him and his sister (7 years old) which are all monitored by her and on speaker phone. She makes speaking to them very difficult by distracting them while on the phone. (Example, tickling their feet while they are on the couch talking, getting their attention to look at a pet, starting a conversation with them while they are in the middle of talking on the phone, it’s always something.) Before their Christmas break, about a week before, he magically got his phone back, and he brought it with him to our house.

After Christmas magically his phone got taken away again!

Surprise! He just got it back. Which is 9 days before he comes for spring break! Coincidence? I think not! His dad has already said that the phone will not be used here like it was last time. During Christmas BM was calling her son at least 8 or more times a day talking for 20+ mins at a time. She would start calling him at 7am about every hour on the hour after that.

Oddly enough phone records were part of the discovery for the trial in May. She failed to turn in her phone records where we called her to talk to the kids, she just supplied the sons. Of course it doesn't have us calling that phone after he got it taken away! We called hers! She is something else! Like we weren't going to show ours calling both numbers! Please!

Well I don't personally call her phone EVER, and if Dad is talking to the kids, and they ask to speak with me then I get on the phone. When the son had his phone he would call me almost everyday. I would send him a text like hope you had a great day at school etc. But I never call her phone or text BM!

Dad has emailed her about the phone interruptions, but it got worse after she realized how much it was annoying him. She's louder than ever.

Get him an iPod. She's probably too stupid to figure out they can text any iPod, iPhone or iPad for free.

He has one and it requires their home wifi but he isn't allowed access to that with her

We did just that over Christmas, and told the boy about it. He said his mother would never do that. That it must of been a mistake his mom probably did it on accident. HEllo Brainwashing! Mom also removed his memory card from the phone over Christmas. I wonder what she didn't want us to see? When asked the boy said his mom was replacing the battery when she was giving his phone back, and it just fell out and BM couldn't figure out how to put it back in! REALLY RIGHT because I totally believe that story!

BM does the same things as far as distractions go. She's clever enough to not tell the skids to lie to us (yet) about things she doesn't want us to know (travel plans, etc).

Instead, she hovers over the girls while DH is speaking (on speakerphone, of course), and turns up the volume on the TV/radio as soon as someone mentions something she doesn't want them talking about.

DH has emailed her dozens of times asking for the 5 minute phone call (skids are only 5 and 6, they don't talk long anyway) to be distraction-free. Her response? "It's inappropriate for me to force the girls to choose between their TV time and talking on the phone".

So Immature Seriously!

I know our girl was fixing to tell us about her Mom's weekend trip to Vegas, after her dad was expressing he was sorry he couldn't reach her that previous weekend. I thought BM had cut off her had with all the racket that started erupting in the background. Of course we could hear BM denying what the girl had just said. I mean we don't care, but her reaction was comical!
