UGHHHH

DH got his work schedule. HIs boss is AWFUL and staying ahead on things... we're talking he usually only knows a few days in advance when he's working. Which isn't fun, but they work around his school schedule.

So of course. I get to handle Psycho by myself for pickup AND dropoff. I voiced I wasn't sure about that, especially since I 1) hate dealing with her in general. 2) Dh was all "well MIL can be there too." SHE MAKES IT WORSE. She's like sickly overly nice about everything, jokes with her, makes her linger longer, and it's just UNCOMFORTABLE! Especially when she's sitting there preaching she hates her. I get being polite, but she goes too far, I just want to say bye to the kids and for her to leave and leave the furbabies alone.

We need to change the pick-up spot, MIL's isn't working. I'm barely going to make it on time after I get off work, and frankly Psycho trying to coax the dog she abused over to her isn't working either. THat dog is the sweetest little thing, she doesn't need that, and since she's already growling, eventually she's going to snap, and I don't want this sweet dog to have to be put to sleep becuase of a Psychotic narcissist's ego! No. Go.

In other news though, we have therapy appointments scheduled for the girls, SD5 starts Tuesday and SD9 starts October 3rd. SD9 was longer becuase I wanted her in with the female. She's just shy and slow to open up to people, the female therapist is the one specializing in play therapy, So she'll most likely do better in that environment. Whereas SD5 is SUPER social. So I wasn't worried about who she was with.

Pick a busy parking lot somewhere close to halfway between your place and BM's for exchanges.

Glad the girls will soon get some help!

We're not supposed to pick anything closer to her. The judge was very specific about her being required to do ALL transportation to show she truly wants to be invovled in their lives. And with my work schedule I'll barely make it to MIL's, let alone anywhere near BM's drug infested city (high crime rate and opiate epidemic going on).

I'm glad too! Kind of sad they could only do intakes in the morning so the girls will miss a little school. But that's better than nothing and they said we can move them to after school after the initial intake!

Ok. Then you can have the girls ready to go 5 minutes before pick up. Have them watch for BM's car and when it pulls up, say goodbye and send them out the door. You don't have to walk them to the car. You don't have to speak to bm.

True! We just try and rush them out to minimize the time the poor baby has to spend in the hot car alone. We do drop off at MIL's though, so getting there on time is the trick. I've tried voicing that to DH, I'm told I'm being silly. I thought we should move it back to the gas station we used to do them at .It was nice and easy. Kids hop out of car and into the other car, then everyone left pretty well immeadiatly, virtually ZERO conversation involved.

Why  can't you move it back to the gas station?

Park the cars close enough so you don't have to get out.

Because Dh thinks it's best to have it there so they can see his parents before leaving. Honestly I'm willing to bet his mom pushed for it... But he hasn't said so. I requested it back to the gas station and was greeting with "but this is so much better for the girls... You're just being silly." *eye roll*

Since you are the one doing the drops offs you get to pick the location, I'd make this a "hill to die on." If he doesn't agree, than he can just do what he needs to do to make it happen at his parent's house. You go above and beyond to care for these girls, this is a small thing DH can do to make it all up to you!

Thank you! I honestly didn’t think of it that way! But I agree! I am the one doing the work. So I should have the choice!
